Hello folks. I am new here, so please forgive me if i mess up. My grandfather had bought my father a PT-20 when he was a teen. It is a very sentimental object to him. As he had been trying to get it back working a few years ao, he used a higher voltage adaptor, burning out (hopefully) a internal fuse circuit.. I hope on restoring the synthesizer, and gifting it to him on his birthday. Any advice? Will be happy to provide any resource that might help restore it.

Hello there. So Ive just acquired my Casio musical keyboard, a CT-X800. Working perfectly fine, sounds good, everything alright. Except that when first tried connecting it to my computer to use midi, it just doesnt work. Reading the manual, it says that connecting the keyboard for the first time it would auto install the drivers and then start interacting with the computer. But it doesnt seem to connect. Ive already tested the usb cable and the computer usb ports. So I went to manually download the drivers. Ive downloaded and installed this driver (https://support.casio.com/pt/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=75) even though it doesnt mention CTX800 as compatible and my OS is Windows 10. It still doesnt seem to react, not the slightlest sign. Also I do use Ableton Live 11 as my DAW, but the keyboard doesnt even seem to react to the computer itself. The keyboard is also brand new. Can someone please help me? I've searched a lot for a usb driver that is compatible with CTX800 and Windows 10.

Hi, is there a way to match the sound of Midi input to the sound that I selected from the keyboard panel? I connect the keyboard to computer via USB and edit some notes with the computer, and configured Midi out to the keyboard, I can play directly on the keyboard and also I can play from the computer, both will generate sound from the keyboard built in speakers. What I want is that when I switch a sound on the keyboard, like from piano to strings, I hope that when I play Midi from the computer to the keyboard, the sound will also be switched to strings. How do I do it? (I use a casio LK-280 but I think the setting required would be similar to most keyboard with Midi) Thank you!

Hi Everyone, I don't know what happened to my keyboard but it just started sounding weird. When I press the keys between the middle C, there's a ringing sound. I disassembled to check if something dropped or if it's dirty, I found nothing lol Weird though, because when the top board is not in placed, it plays okay. It's just when I put it down, the ringing sound can be heard so bad again. You can hear it from this video. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ok, I have a really random request: Can anyone help me name an obscure demo song with almost no info to give you?.... When I was a kid in the late 90's, I had a Casio keyboard. Don't remember the model number (that would be too easy, wouldn't it?). I remember it had round speakers and big buttons in the middle and a midi interface and less than 88 keys. It was silver. It had a ton of sounds and demo songs. Some songs were Londonderry Air, American Patrol and Bluebells of Scotland. Then there's this one song I can't get out of my head but can't for the life of me remember the name of. Can't find it when I search for demo song lists. So I will take a shot in the dark and describe it here in case someone happens to be familiar with that keyboard and song. (Not enough info probably but I thought i would try). The song is mostly in a minor key. It modulates a little to the major in the bridge. The strings carry the melody at least in the bridge. I don't remember if the rest of the melody is strings or oboe or something. The melody starts by going up a minor scale. It sounds very sad. Like a Russian ballad. It kind of reminds me of Song Without Words by Holst but it is not that song. I attached a recording of me singing the main melody minus the bridge so you didn't have to submit to the torture too long. Lol! It sounds Classical Russian to me but could be a theme from a movie or soap opera for all I know! Maybe if you don't have the keyboard but know a bit about music you will recognize it? This has been driving me mad for many years. Thank you for your time. Voice_171011_2.3gp

Hello to everyone on the Casio Music Forum! I'm here looking for information on an old keyboard which I believe to be from the 1990s. It originally belonged to my grandmother, and now I use it in some of my music production because I like some of the sort of 90s sounds on it. Printed on the front is a list of 100 drum rhythms, as well as 100 sound presets. It says CASIO: PRO-300 in the center, and has a LCD screen that is 4.5 cm x 2 cm which displays numbers that correspond to whatever preset one might have selected. It incorporates the use of Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) sound as well as touch response, and adaptable, built in Reverb and Delay effects. I have attached a photograph of the keyboard to this thread. The things I'd like to know about this keyboard are: How much did it originally cost? What type of synthesis is used (or are they samples)? When did they first begin being produced? How long did they stay on the market? What is it worth now? Thanks in advance, I look forward to seeing what you all can provide!

So it all started when I kept my tab on the piano and after that day the left part of my piano sounds funny, it’s sounds like I pressed two keys at the same time. So I think resetting it might help.....and I read the manual but couldn’t find anything important, so it would be a great if someone could help me.

Hello all, and forgive me for being a newbie both here and with my new instrument, I now own a Casio PX-S3000 I LOVE the look of the instrument, and I like the few stock on-board easily accessible sounds that have come from the factory. That being said, I must say, sorry, don't like the instruction manual at all, and the online instruction manual looks exactly the same. It's not laid out well, with tiny, tiny words, and I find it to be confusing, and not user friendly at all. What ever happened to a book with a table of contents, pages containing a walk-through sounds list, , and an index in the back of the book? It has been stated that this instrument has 700 on board sounds, GREAT, but so far, I've not found an easy way to access those, NOR have I found an online page, where all of those are listed, categorized, along with (and most importantly), an easy walk-through on how to access those. This instrument came with 5 stock on-board surface sounds, and on the far right a 6th button that says "other" If I say select EP I see "001 Galaxia EP" .. if I hit that button again, I see "025 Amp Clavi" if I hit the button a third time .. I see "031 Ambient Vibes" ... If I hit the button a fourth time .... I'm back to "001 Galaxia EP" With the exception of the button on the far right that says "other" which scrolls through 14 sounds ... the first 5 buttons only scroll through about 2, or 3 or sounds each, before returning to the original. This is frustrating, and therefore, to me ... so far ... this instrument only has about 30 sounds. I feel very stupid asking for help on this, but please help me. I'm willing to bet that I'm not the first person to have this problem, and I probably will not be the last. Checking YouTube, I've found several more advanced videos, on how to edit the sounds of the instrument, and those are quite good, but HOW in the world do I say, easily scroll through, and one by one, audition, all of the Rhodes sounds that this instrument has (I'm guessing there are at least 5 STOCK Rhodes sounds) , or all of the synth sounds, or all of the acoustic piano sounds? I'll bet there are at least 20 acoustic piano sounds. Where are they? If you please, is there a video that covers the absolute RAW BASICS on how to navigate this instrument, explaining how to access the many sounds it has? OR, almost as good, can you just tell me how to access all the sounds here? Once I can do that, THEN I can go on to the edit sounds videos, and experience all of the other wonderful things this instrument can do. Information on how to access, and navigate through the many sounds of the Casio PX-S3000, is what would help me tremendously at this point, and I would be very grateful. Thank you all, and have a great weekend! Joe

hi. not so long ago i inherited a piano keyboard from my uncle (r.i.p.) - casio cdp-130bk. so i went to the store to buy some cables (this model requires USB Type-B, if im not mistaken) to make it possible recording my piano, but when i came back home and plugged my piano in my pc, i didnt get any results: piano still sounds apart from my pc like i if i was playing w/out any cables. even right now after writing all of this text i decided to check my settings again, and i did, and it still doesnt work. also, i was searching on the internet any info about this model and download some software, but it appears that there's no any software or drivers for this model. was it so unpopular? unfortunately, i couldnt find any info about this model EVEN on Casio websites, which is odd. I really want to play on digital piano and record some stuff so badly, after decade of playing on the old piano by Paish, please, help. im running on windows 10 if it makes sense. if any photos are needed i'll make them.

Hello, I own a casioctk-691 that was working fine but suddenly stopped working. When I press power button the LCD goes ON but on screen shows something like I press a lot of keys/buttons at the same time, some letters are half. Also none of the keyboard buttons and keybed keys working. No sound at all.It looks like cannot boot or load the firmware to continue. Also I cannot turn it off from power button and I have to unplug the ac/dc power plug..The 9v adaptor is fine and also I used another bench adaptor with the same results. With batteries same result also. I disassembled the keyboard. The power supply board is fine. All dc voltage/capacitors/diodes according the service manual are ok.The cpu board gets all the 5v,9v,3.3v power..I found only that 1 of 2 Vram ics getting very hot quicly. If Vram is faulty IC can this be the reason for no booting or Not?..I tried the factory reset but because buttons not working nothing happens..I sent message to CASIO for a spare pcb but with no luck..It is my favorite keyboard and I will be very glad if someone with knoledge can help me or any ideas? Sorry for my long message, Thanks, Dimitris. 😊

Hello, I just got a Privia PX-5S. I'm extremely excited to start gigging with it and have some studio sessions coming up I'm planning on using it in. I'm loving the Privia so far but having quite an annoying issue with it. I'm sure I just don't understand how to use it fully but I have exhausted youtube tutorials and the manual. On start up, no matter the stage setting, every zone has a pitch LFO on it. I go to the settings, and turn it off. (it's always set at .8 ) and everything works fine. But if I move to a new stage setting, restart the keyboard, or accidentally press the wrong button. All of the sudden the LFO is back and I have to go back into the GUI to disable it. Surely there is a setting I am not seeing, or somekind of user error. But either way it's extremely frustrating, I can't have an LFO messing with my tuning while recording, and it just sounds off trying to play along with anything. Has anyone else encountered this? What can I do to stop this from being the default setting? I have already tried doing a factory reset, it did not change anything. This is my first post on this forum. Apologies if I have posted the wrong place or broken any rules. I appreciate any input. Thank you.

Hello, This is my first post. I know nothing about music, but want to learn to play keyboards for pastimes. I did some research on the web, and this has led me to narrow down my choice to Casio keyboards. My preference in decreasing order(according to the products available in my country): 1) CTK-7300IN (sliders on left side) 2) WK-240K7 (76 keys) 3) CT-X870IN/ CT-X8000IN (new AiX sound engine) Questions: 1) Since where I live, music and keyboards are a very rare hobby, I am not getting a used one, and the equivalent of 280 USD is the most I can spend, are the choices of keyboards correct? (7300 cost my quivalent of 280 USD, that's 3/5 of a month's salary) 2) I want one good keyboard, so that after I learn my way around music, I can still use the keyboard for making better music, are the afore-mentioned choices good? 3) Someone on a forum claimed that CTK-7300 come close to workstation capabilities, so does that mean I can actually synthesize music with its Drawbar Sliders? 4) In my learning journey, will 61 keys hinder me, so that I can consider the WK240 76 key version? 5) What kind of DSP do these Casios have? And do I need a hardware synth module so that I can create advanced effects? (Like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GV2FIWhH-Z8) 6) Does AHL vs AIX matter for me? People already claim Yamahas have more depth of sound than Casios, and I don't want a Yamaha. (My choice: 7) Can I make guitar pedals FX work with my Casio? Do I need guitar pedals for FX like reverb or delay? 😎 Do I need a monitor speaker? Will a plain CD Player's speaker work? Are the Keyboard's onboard speakers good enough or poor? 9) Since these have USB MIDI, can I connect them directly to a speaker? 10) Do I need a DAW? What are some low cost/ free DAWs? Is a soft-synth far better than any hardware synth, since they use computer CPUs?

Is there a PC Mode in the Casio CTK-720? Because it is really bothering me how the piano plays at the same time as the computer does.

Is there a way to either get the .wav or .mp3 files of the tones or sounds that are in the keyboard? If not those files, is there just a way to see the sounds?

Thank you for offering help. 8^)

I found a CTK-720 at a Goodwill and would like to connect it to my Lenovo G-50 with Windows 10 with midi. I have tried downloading everything off of the included disc but it all seems to be outdated. Please help me figure this out so i can use my keyboard!

Hello, I bought the Casio LK280, I would like all the keys from the keyboard to light up, but until now not all the keys do so... and I tried to adjust the MIDI file, with changing channels to 3 and 4, but something went wrong. Does anyone have an idea what to do to make all the keys light up? Any help is appreciated, I am looking forward to learn to play this song (see the attachment). This is the version I didn't adjust. Thanks! 1_SHES_LIKE_THE_WIND.mid
