  1. I have a Casio PX-S1000, which I also use as a MIDI controller on Pianoteq 8. I noticed that even with an ASIO driver, the latency is still higher than with other MIDI controllers. My research then revealed that another user had noticed the same thing and found out by chance that the latency caused by the PX-S1000 depends on the sound selected on the piano. The latency is particularly high when the main piano sound is selected. If you select a different sound (e.g. organ), the additional latency added by the controller is significantly reduced, making it much easier to play overall. You then have almost direct control. If sound preset 1 remains selected, the latency is noticeably distracting. Is this known and documented somewhere? Or is there even a firmware update that fixes this effect? And I am interested in a PX-S5000 or PX-S7000. Do their MIDI implementations have the same behavior or are they even better MIDI controllers?
  2. I was wondering if by any chance, how am I able to record my PX-S1000 into my laptop. I know that you are able to connect it a cable or some sort from the back of the piano, and able to plug it in into my laptop so I am able to record? What exactly cable would I need to get to connect my piano into my laptop?
  3. Hi everyone, My name is Leon, I'm new to this forum and the Casio keyboards, in general. Just recently, a friend of mine brought his Casio PX-S3000 to my studio. Apparently there was a big controversy on YouTube regarding the keybed and the weight difference between the black and white keys. My friend was curious to know how I felt about this keyboard. So I tried it out and really liked the way the keybed felt. I played some advanced repertoire and techniques and it was pretty responsive. Then my friend suggested I should make a video and talk about my honest opinion and share it with the Casio community. Hope you find this video informative and enjoyable. Glad to be part of this community.
  4. I've started learning piano with my PX-S1000 using the app SimpyPiano on my Android tablet. For connecting they I've used cable plugged in the USB-B port on PX-S1000 and in the micro-USB port on my tablet. This worked fine for SimplyPiano and also for Chordana for Piano. I've also paired PX-S1000 with the tablet through Bluetooth and played a couple of songs from my tablet in PX-S1000 speakers successfully. But I couldn't use the Android apps over Bluetooth instead of the USB cable. How can I make this work? Thanks.
  5. So every time I step on my sustain pedal, it makes this weird sound, like a soft blow or something is being crushed down but quietly and I can hear it when I play it. Is there any I can get rid of it by anyway? Please help
  6. Hello everyone! I hope are all doing well and are safe in these times. I came here to ask for help regarding my issue with using my PX-S1000 with the Garageband app on the iPad Pro (2020). My iPad Pro is not detecting my PX-S1000, but my Macbook 2018 is. I will start with the items I currently have and what I have tried with them. Devices: PX-S1000 iPad 2020 Macbook Pro 2018 Accessories/Adapters: USB-B male to USB-A female cable "onn" USB-A female to USB-C male adapter from Wal-mart "Apple" USB-A female to USB-C male adapter Applications: Garageband Logic Pro X The Macbook At first I only had the "onn" adapter, which I used to connect my keyboard to my Macbook. I was able to record my keyboard input on both Logic Pro X and Garageband. I did not run into any issues, and the on-screen keyboard even shows which keys I was pressing on the keyboard. I connected my keyboard using my USB-B to USB-A cable, which is connected into my USB-A to USB-C cable. The iPad Pro I tried the same thing on my iPad and cannot get Garageband to detect my keyboard. I did hours of research and the solution seems to be the "Apple" USB-A to USB-C adapter. So I bought it and nothing has changed. My gut tells me the problem is not the functionality of the USB-B to USB-A cable OR the adapters, since they work on my Macbook. I feel like I am altogether using the wrong cables/adapters to connect the PX-S1000 to the iPad Pro or am missing something in the middle. My worst fear is that the PX-S1000 is not compatible with the iPad 2020, but I doubt that is the issue. I would appreciate any help with this... My wife is actually the pianist and needs to record often for her clients. This is something we didn't have to do before because we did not have to worry about the virus. I need the Macbook for school/work so I am quite desperate to get this to work with the iPad. Thank you for your time, Tsykez
  7. Here is another unboxing, demo, and review of the PX-S1000. He has some good video shots about the key travel and pivot point compared to a real piano. I appreciate his honest comments about the sound quality, keyboard action, design, build quality construction, features, user interface, speakers, and connections.
  8. Hi all, Got my px-s1000 last week in order to learn piano. Really like it and love that I can practice with the headphones on when family go to bed. Anyhow, just tonight I have noticed a sort of knocking sound, like knocking on a wood table sort of sound (but sort of with echo/reverb type quality too) in the higher keys, noticeable faintly from around the 5 keys then more and more so as you continue up, to where the top keys are more percussion/knocking than note. Basically is this mimicking the sound of an actual piano? I am not talking about physical knocking/sounds of the keys being pressed here, it doesn't do it on electronic piano setting for example, but it is like the sound is simulated to be like that. I've tried all grand piano settings and rock piano setting and sounds same. Any help much appreciated. Kind regards Craig Voice 002.m4a
  9. Hi there, I have bought a PX-S1000 and it seems to me that the envelope of all the notes with the beginning of A6# have too much release, or at least too much reverb. Meaning, they play too long compared to the other notes below, or have reverb without having reverb activated, respectively. I have attached a video where I play / press the notes G6 and A6, and where you (hopefully) hear my / the problem. Before that I made a factory reset, just to make sure the problem has nothing to do with my settings. Is this a "normal" behaviour or just a problem with my keyboard? Greetings, Markus px-s1000-g6-a6.mov px-s1000-g6-a6.m4a
