  1. This is the haunting theme from the 1969 movie "Midnight Cowboy". I have never seen the movie, but love the theme song. (5) MIDI tracks consisting of: Rhythm = OldiesBallad Grand Piano Stereo strings Velo clarinet (original uses a harmonica which I didn't care for) Symphony2 (hex) Midnight Cowboy.mp3
  2. This is the main theme from the 1980 movie "Somewhere in Time". I really like John Barry's movie music. Midnight Cowboy coming soon. Somewhere in Time.mp3
  3. Beau Soir (Beautiful Evening) is is a highly impressionistic and lush piece from Debussy written when he was only 15 years old! Lyrics: "When the rivers are rosy in the setting sun, And a warm shiver runs over the wheat fields, Advice to be happy seems to rise up from things And climb toward the troubled heart. Advice to taste the charm of being in the world While one is young and the evening is beautiful, For we are going away, as the stream goes away: The stream to the sea, we to the grave." I recently learned this by ear after listening (many times) to the "real" version while using the free Android app Music Speed Changer plugged into the audio in on the PX560. This program allows you so slow down an mp3 without changing the pitch = handy. FYI: I made a chord "cheat sheet" if anyone is interested (PDF). (2) MIDI tracks: Piano + strings (layered) Symphony2 (Hex) new sound downloaded from this forum Beau Soir.mp3
  4. I uploaded this one as an example of the default concert grand on the PX560. No additional tones or tracks added (clean). Took several takes to get it right in one performance. This piece is probably the peak of my abilities so it's likely all downhill from this point, Ha! Concerto Cm.mp3
  5. This is a jazzy piece that took me a long time to "master". Love Gershwin, hate his key choices! (5) MIDI tracks consisting of: Slow Swing rhythm on system track GrPno Concert AiR E Piano 4 Streo String 1 Velo. Clarinet Absolutely addicted to the PX-560. Not a single complaint. Does everything I need and much more. My real life job is getting in the way of my obsession, Ha. Prelude 2.mp3
  6. When I save a multi-track MIDI recording as SMF, it doesn't seem to included the system track & rhythm accomp. when I load the file into MusicEditor 3.1 on my Windows 10 laptop. Tracks 1-16 show up fine. I suspect the system track is 17 and therefore not recognized. Is there a way to either move the system track or otherwise have it show up in a MIDI editor?

Just messing around with hex layers for practice-made up of acoustic bass, ep, vibes, sax, mute trumpet and jazz organ from existing tones, just split up roughly an octave each except bass. No drumkit since these can't be used in a hex layer. Just for giggles. Nice for creating multi-instrument voicings for a jazz ensemble approach (maybe!)
  8. Hi, I'm in search for a digital piano, I'm after a good keybed for the odd piano practice and don't plan on gigging at all. I'm basically after a good keybed and ideally lots of sounds incl. pads, synths, sequencer and speaker are bonus and well accepted. I'm seriously considering the px560 because of the added value, sequencer, touchscreen, range of sounds including synths, drums and ability to save music to usb and finally it has ok speakers. I'm going to complement it with a nord lead a1, and play both together, here are some questions to any 560 owner I'd love to shed some light on: -Can i plug the nla1 via lineIn, turn on the casio and simply use the px560 as speakers? -Can I play both keyboards and have both sounds coming via the casio speakers? -Similarly, can I record the nord lead a1 via linein to one of the tracks of the sequencer? -Can I connect the two via midi, play and record 4 midi tracks using the nla1 and subsequently record the result back to the sequencer as sound using the linein? -Finally, how do you find the casio px 560? Oh any alternative worth considering, maybe something more expensive? I'm looking at the kawai mp7se, used nord piano3, yamaha cp4. anything else i might be forgetting? p.s. I don't need a stage piano, I need a good keybed for home piano practice and sequencer and composing. I just happen to like the casio560 features. many thanks Luca
  9. I recorded a sequence at 86 bpm. It is playing back at 121 bpm. How can the tempo of 86 bpm be saved ? Thank You, Michael
  10. Hello guys! This music was made using a Hex Layer ("solo synth") on MZ500 and the acoustic piano from PX-560, with some adjusts and equalizers. The bass, drums and acoustic guitar was made it on Logic X, using VSTs. Enjoy it!

    Hammond Organ

I am trying to recreate the original 1960's Hammond Organ sound as used by Procol Harum on A whiter Shade of Pale. I have been trying various settings and parameters but I just can't get it right. Any help or advice will be most appreciated. PX-560
  12. Somewhere along the line I have mislaid/lost my music rack for my PX 560. Whilst I dont use it all the time, I would like to buy a replacement music rack and have it whenever the need arises. I live in Europe, Dublin Ireland . Where can I obtain one on the Web. Thanks
  13. Any data available on creating s commercial usable brass secton on the PX560 ,utilising hexlayer area featuring sax , trombone trumpet whatever, similiar to Motown brass sound. Thanks Frank
  14. I want to make a hexlayer with 2 splits featuring bass, piano and a lead instrument instrument, sax, guitar, flute, whatever. My question is, can I change the octave of that lead instrument to the same octave as the piano in the first split. To put it another way, can I adjust octaves within hexlayer splits. Thanks Frank
  15. New PX560 owner! I went through all the factory tones looking for a nice subtle pad to underlie upper 1 and 2 tones for use in church settings. Couldn't really find anything that wasn't edgy or weird. Anybody have any suggestions? I can get around well enough to edit something, or if you want to upload something that would be great. Thanks in advance.
  16. I would HUGELY appreciate any help I can get with the following issue. Can anyone please tell me if the main (best) piano voice on the Casio PX560 is better sounding than the main (best) piano voice on the PX160? I am not speaking of how those respective piano voices sound through the onboard speakers, but rather, how they sound through the output jacks used for recording or PA amplification. The reason I'm asking is this: I only became aware of the quality of the Casio line of pianos one week after buying a competitive piano and I'm wondering if I should return the piano I bought and get a Casio. Please let me explain further my dilemma. I just went to a store where they have the keyboard I bought sitting on their display floor plus they also have the Casio PX160 and the Casio CGP-700, but they don't have the PX360 or PX560. So I did the best I could to compare the pianos available for comparison. I used headphones to listen very carefully to the line-out quality of the three pianos and it seemed to me (1) that the PX160 and CGP-700 sounded virtually identical if not identical. And (2) I preferred the piano I bought a week ago a bit more than both of the Casios, but I know this is a matter of personal taste. So here's what's keeping me on my hunt: I immensely love the display screen on the Casio keyboards, so I'm wondering: Did I do a fair comparison? In other words, if I paid the extra money to buy a PX560 (which the store didn't have to try out), would I be getting a significantly better piano sound (through the output ports) than the PX160 or CGP-700 I heard? I know the PX560 has a lot more features than the PX160. That's clear to me. But just in terms of the electronics or internal sound engine, will the best piano voice on the PX560 sound better than the best one on the PX160 or are they really identical? Thank you so much for your help.
  17. I noticed an issue in the built in speakers since the day i purchased PX 560. When the volume is over 50% and I play bass notes between E1 to A2 I get buzzing noise and vibration. This noise is very noticeable for E.piano sounds and Fingered bass sounds. I also got it my piece replaced and the new one also has the same problem. Can anyone let me know if this is a known issue? PS: This is not applicable when played with earphones, external speakers and usb recording
