XWork Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 So you want to save your beats in the machine for later? So in the XW terminology a sequence is like a song. There are two ways to create beats by playing a sound on a pad and then click the outer ring to place the sound in the pattern. You will need to be in "STEP" mode for that and also make sure the "PATTERN" group is turned off so you can just concentrate on one "PATTERN" slot at a time. You can have up to eight patterns per song/sequence and four Pattern Groups per song/sequence. To make sure your not in a Pattern Group cycle go to "PATTERN" make sure none of the four lights in the circle numbered 11,12,13 and 14 are flashing. Then circle lights 1-8 are where your different patterns will be. Whichever light is not lit is the pattern slot you are in. So now your just dealing with one pattern loop that will play continuously as you make changes either by selecting the circle lights or by "REC" on the fly. Once you have a beat you can only save it in "SEQ" numbers 100 through 149 so it is probably easiest to create in one of those, then you press"FUNCTION" and "SEQ[WRITE]" at the same time, the little screen will say "SAu" and the 16 pad will be flashing, you can use pad 11(-) or 12(+) to move the pattern to another user sequence number if you want at this point or just tap the flashing red pad and you're done. I noticed that whatever User Sequence you are in when you go to WRITE it in the number will advance by one. If you're creating in 105 it will automatically go to 106 when you make it permanent by default. But you can still choose what number you want with the 11(-) or 12(+) pads. Quote
