SpatialSculpture
I have a Casio WK-245, my microphone is a uniderectional Digital Reference Cardioid DRI 100. I sample sound with mic volume at highest with mic head facing foward into a sound at it's mid peak volume. Turning my Vizio soundbar to it's highest seems too simple a solution for getting a good recorded sample. Am I missing something here ? What can I do to get better sampling as so far most are weak in play back.
Display Name
Try using a mixer as a pre-amp to boost the mic sound so: mic ---> mixer ---> keyboard
SpatialSculpture
What would be the best mixer ?

You should be able to find one for around $40-60. The Behringer Xenyx 502 5-Channel Analog Mixer is only $40.
