sergio
Very beautiful and beautifully played. As you may imagine, I'm partial to the Romantics... I also love the deep sound of the keyboard...
Tsquare
Thanks for the compliment. I especially enjoy the works of the Russian Romantics (Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Glazunov, etc.). Lots of huge chords! I think I have an aversion to the most of the Classical Era (e.g. Clementi) from frustrating childhood piano lessons, Ha.
sergio
Rachmaninoff's Second Concerto is my "ultimate"... I'm not an expert by any means on classical composers, since I didn't suffer through the awful childhood piano lessons (my sympathy). But I know what I like, and over the years I've developed a liking for many of them, besides the Russians. I wonder if you've ever heard of Louis Gottschalk... I discovered him some years ago. His music is very close to Caribbean rhythms and melodies and I think he's great. He's an American from Louisiana in the late 1800s, I think. Last night I was listening to something more contemporary, but it's a group I also like a lot for their eclectic world music and their incredibly beautiful arrangements: Pink Martini.
