XW-Addict
I've read and done some grasping sound design. And it seems really best to start with Amp, Then Filter and then Pitch. Effects can be added last. Specially on PX5S this order can make a difference.

I usually start with oscillator/sample choice, then filter (to make sure I have the timbre I want), then amplitude envelope. After adding effects I sometimes go back and try a different sample, to see if the tweaking works even better with other raw materials. That has been pretty nice when I have set up guitars in the past, and also electric pianos.
XW-Addict
I've started out doing it that way before, I'm trying to avoid random audition. And doing more concise sound selection in which the wave form applied adds A wanted effect.
Choppin
Interesting. So you start with the nuance or movement of the sound before applying a timbre. Is that about right? What do you audition the sound with if you aren't starting with a sample or oscillator?
