Nat
Hello, I posted to Mike not realising that there was a rule on this forum that you're not supposed to message him directly. So I will write for all to see now Hello Mike, My name is Nathaniel I bought a Privia Px5s a couple of years ago. I am not a very good piano player. I bought for the stage piano sounds which are good, as i am learning piano, and also to use for it's powerful synth system as i do some basic texture sounds with friends in some jams. I wanted to get off the computer (running through ableton and using the sounds there, and onto a real intrument so to speak). The sound bank on ableton is amazing, and I love the ease of access and ability to load on different effects easily which even a music dummy like me can manage. To say the least, it has been an extremely complicated and non intuitive keyboard (px5s) for me to use in this regard. I watched all of your instructional videos about hex layers, zones etc. I consider myself reasonably tech savy, and it seem so complicated and made me feel nautious trying to understand it and operate it. With the preset sound banks, i notice that when i scroll through the different sounds, seldom are there more than one or two sliders that actually effect these presets, and i haven't found any where the knobs do anything. I guess that this is so that things can be assigned to these knobs and sliders manually. I don't really want to put any more time and energy into trying to figure out how this thing works as it's ver y stressful, but i would love to be able to use it to do more than what i am doing now. I am wondering if you have, or know of any downloadable content, that works in the way of downloading a complete package sound bank. Ie, yourself or someone has assigned lots of different synthy interesting sounds to the bank, with effects on the knobs and sliders ready to go. Something that is possible to download to the keyboard in one go so that i can then play around. If this is possible, then i would definitely keep the keyboard and enjoy this machine more, if not, will be time to move onto something more intuitive. Also, i have tried to use this as a midi controller with ableton, and have not been able to assign effects from the program to any sliders and knobs. I 'm sure that this is actually a wonderful machine, and I have seen what you are able to make it do, which is very impressive. I just don't have the time, patience or skills to create these layers and sounds and would love some assistance. Thanks Mike, hope things are great with you and look forward to hearing from you Nathaniel Ps, to anyone else reading this, if you have a handle on this machine and would be willing to share your downloadable content, I would be extremely grateful to say the least! Any feedback welcome. Thank you
Brad Saucier
Hi Nathaniel. Welcome to the forums. Downloads are found by looking in our downloads section. It is divided into two main sections, Casio or community content, then divided under each section by keyboard model and type of files. https://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/files/
