Help me pick my first keyboard

Hi there,

 

As the title suggests, I'd like some help picking my first keyboard.

I'm an adult wanting to learn how to play the piano, and generally learning music, but I currently have space for max 61 keys and I want it to be portable.

 

The CT-S1 and CT-S400 just released and they look like great options. The S1 for the look and the sound quality, and the S400 for the arranger features, e.g. having rhythm accompaniment, and more tones available.

But if I'm gonna go with something that has arranger features and many tones, then the Roland Go Keys also becomes a contender, since it seems to offer similar things, much more polyphony than either of the above, with the added bonus of having built-in Bluetooth, and is in the same price range here.

And as arranger keyboards go, there is also the Yamaha PSR-E373, which is cheaper here, a better arranger keyboard than all of the above, but is less portable and doesn't have Bluetooth.

 

As you can see I'm pretty conflicted about this, primarily because I'm a complete beginner so I don't really know what I would need. I want to learn music, mainly piano instruments, but it just feels that having some of the arranger features like rhythm accompaniment would be fun and a good learning tool as well.

 

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

[Groove On]

I owned the Roland Go Piano for 3 years. Form factor was great for schlepping around the world to different countries (I’m retired, not a professional). But the Go Piano action really wore on me, like a pebble in your shoe. Eventually just stopped using it and sold it because of the action. 
 

I’ve had the CT-S1 for around 3 weeks. The CT-S1 has decent dynamic control and I find myself reaching for it more and more just for the fun of it, something I stopped doing with the Go Piano.

 

Don’t let your imagination run away, it’s still a plastic US$199 action, but the action is decently playable. I won’t buy another Go Piano, but I’m considering getting a 2nd CT-S1.
