Mike Martin
Hey everyone, I'm going to put this here so all the information you need is one place. Should you receive a "No Media" error on your PX-5S, don't panic and don't worry, your PX-5S can be restored without erasing your Stage Settings or other files. What has happened? Well, we're not 100% certain. We've seen cases of this when the instrument has gone unused for a long period of time. In other cases there has been a power surge or static electricity. Casio has worked very hard to try and replicate this problem on units that have exhibited this behavior and have never been able replicate it. What to do: If you're PX-5S is displaying "No Media" on the display, simply download the latest firmware (linked below) and put it on the root directory of a USB drive. It will reload the operating system and you'll be back fully working in about 8 minutes. We have seen the some people have issues with some USB drives and it will say "No File". This is either a problem with your drive itself or the way your computer downloaded or unzipped the file. Try a different USB drive or re-download the unzipped version of the firmware below. As a precaution you can simply keep the firmware on the USB drive in your PX-5S at all times. The official download link is here: https://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=435 If you have trouble obtaining or unzipping this file you can download the Unzipped file from my personal dropbox folder: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dvuqut8if67n2mt/update.bin?dl=0
