hefner
I've been having a great time with the PX-5S, each day getting a better understanding of the Stage Settings, amazed at the flexibility of this machine. The stage setting I'm currently experimenting with: Zone 1 = Drums (with a Phrase loop, triggered to start with Pedal2) Zone 2 = Bass for the low octaves Zone 3 = Pad Zone 4 = Synth I like to do a lot of stop/start of the beat in songs, and I'm finding that due to my own bad timing, I'm restarting the drums either early or late. I think I need to just MUTE the drum Phrase to ensure that the measures of silence are still staying 'on the beat'. Even though the S1 slider currently controls the expression of Zone 1, I would prefer to have the volume controlled by my Pedal1. Is it possible for Pedal1 to mute the drums when held down, then for the drums to return at the original volume upon release?? All the while not impacting any of the other sounds, and I still want Pedal2 to be the initial trigger for the Phrase starting. Any ideas, please share! Thanks yall for your time 😀 Edited August 28, 2021 by hefner spelling error
Solution jaspeter Posted September 13, 2021 Solution Share Posted September 13, 2021 This post was recognized by Mike Martin! jaspeter was awarded the badge 'Helpful' and 100 points. You can absolutely do this: With Zone 1 selected, go to Edit - Stage Setting - Common Edit Go to Pedal 1 - Mode and set it to Momentary. Go to Target Edit - set Target to CC11: express. Set the Min Value to 127 and the Max Value to 0. This should allow the zero expression value to be sent while the pedal is depressed and 127 when released. Go back to Stage Setting - Zone Edit - Controller Edit and make sure Pedal1 Enable is on only for Z1 and off for the rest of the zones. If the on and off are too abrupt, you can lower the value of the On Rate and Off Rate in the Stage Setting - Common Edit - Pedal 1 menu. Good luck!
