Cușlea_FM Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 (edited) Hello my dear friends ! I am Florin ! I'm glad to be member of the Casio Family and thank's for welcoming me in this community ! Recently I got a Casio CT-X5000 as gift, and I love it so much because its sound and functions are really amazing ! Before starting to programming tones and rhythms, I strive to know and understand this little precious treasure, so, I need some informations for correctly configuration of the EQ and FX section setings... Therefore, my first question is, knows anyone which is the width of each parametric EQ band in Casio CT-X5000 ? For each band of the 4 band configurable Master Parametric EQ which can be applied by system to all tones simultaneously în the User EQ section ? And for each band of the 1 or 2 or 3 band configurable parametric EQ which can be individually applied to each User Tone in the DSP FX section ? Edited December 10, 2023 by Cuslea_FM Quote
Cușlea_FM Posted April 9, 2023 Author Posted April 9, 2023 (edited) Hello all of you. I started to editing tones in my CT-X5000, but I had the unpleasant surprise to find that the CT-X series offers the possibility to modify the Attack and Release parameters, but doesn't have full editing capability of the ADSR Amplitude Envelope. To create certain tones, setting the Decay and Sustain parameters is essential. Therefore, my second question, is there any way to control the ADSR Envelope of a tone in the AiX Sound Engine and set the Decay and Sustain parameters via an external MIDI controller ? Therefore, my second question, is there any way to control the ADSR Envelope of a tone in the AiX Sound Engine and set the Decay and Sustain parameters via an external MIDI controller ? Advanced tone editing is possible via the Tone Tyrant software, released by mrmr9494 here on the forums. The AiX sound engine has a complex envelope with multiple Attack and Release parameters that can approximate the decay and sustain functions on a synth with a normal four stage envelope. Casio built all this functionality into the .TON files themselves, but did not make the full set of parameters available via incoming MIDI CC or the built-in tone editor menu. I believe Tone Tyrant can also help with DSP block editing, but I haven't looked into that too deeply. Basically, you would do the preliminary tone edits through the built-in tone editor, and then when you reach the part of the sound design process where you need to tweak the hidden parameters, export the "rough draft" .TON to your computer for fine detailing via Tone Tyrant. Then you save the modified .TON and send it back to the CT-X for testing. Fortunately you can import and export files directly to the keyboard from within the program so there's not too much waiting to see the effect of your edits -- "realtime" software editing with instant updates has yet to be figured out. You can find the topic for Tone Tyrant here. Not too sure on the specifics of the 4 band EQ. You might try emailing Casio support to see if they can clarify, the information is not published anywhere as far as I'm aware. Quote

I am so glad to see that there exists "ToneTyrant" software which provides a way to completely programming the parameters of a tone. On this occasion, I want to congratulate and thank to “mrmr9494” for creating "ToneTyrant" software, and I want to congratulate you Chandler and "shiihs" for creating "ReStyle" software ! 🙏 Quote
Cușlea_FM Posted May 24, 2023 Author Posted May 24, 2023 (edited) Because the native format for playing audio files in the Casio CT-X series (and CT-X5000 which I use) is 16-bit/44.1kHz Stereo WAV, I suppose that the entire Sound Architecture of the AiX chip and the Analog Audio I/O are also 16-bit/44.1kHz. Therefore, my old MIDI Controller Behringer U-control UMA25S with its 16-bit/32-44.1-48kHz built-in Audio Interface is a perfect solution for streaming audio between my C-TX5000 and my PC/Tablet/iPhone. Over time they have existed a few of compact portable all-in-one "Stations" with full MIDI Keyboard Controller capabilities and with Analog/Digital Audio Interface (Line I/O, Guitar Line Input, Microphone Input with Phantom Power Preamp, etc.), and I would like to upgrade from my old 25 keys Behringer U-control UMA25S to a slightly larger 32 - 37 keys MIDI Controller all-in-one "Station", but, to my disappointment, I don't have many current options available at the moment on the market. I would like something with 37 Mini-Keys like the IK MULTIMEDIA iRig Keys 2, but with features like Alesis Photon X49, or Line6 TonePort KB37, or M-Audio OZONIC, or Edirol PCR-A30. Anyway, I will list in this post all these compact portable all-in-one Stations that I know, and I ask all you to help me with other examples of possible options: 49 keys : Yamaha MX49 V2 - USB MIDI/AUDIO Interface class-compliant with iOS support, full-sized synth-type action velocity-sensitive keys, 24-bit/44.1 kHz https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/yamaha-mx49?amp IK Multimedia iRig Keys I/O 49 full-sized synth-type action velocity-sensitive keys, 24-bit/96kHz https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/ik-multimedia-irig-keys-io-49?amp Novation X-Station 49, 49 full-sized semi-weighted velocity-sensitive keys with aftertouch, 24-bit/44.1-96kHz https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/novation-x-station-25?amp Novation XIOSynth 49, 49 full-sized semi-weighted velocity-sensitive keys with aftertouch, 24-bit/44.1 kHz https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/novation-xiosynth?amp M-Audio Venom, 49 full-sized weighted keys, 24-bit/44,1 kHz https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/m-audio-venom?amp Alesis Photon X49, 49 full-sized synth-type action velocity-sensitive keys, 24-bit/44.1-48kHz, AXYZ Controller Dome - infrared 3D control over audio effects, VST plug-ins, software DAW’s, and MIDI instruments https://www.sweetwater.com/insync/winter-namm-2005-alesis-photon-x49/ 37 keys : Line6 TonePort KB37 and Line 6 POD Studio KB37, 37 full-sized synth-type action velocity-sensitive keys, S/PDIF stereo output (RCA-type), 24-bit/96kHz https://line6.com/legacy/toneportkb37 & https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/line-6-toneport-kb37?amp M-Audio OZONIC, 37 full-sized synth-type action velocity-sensitive keys with aftertouch, 24-bit/96kHz https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/m-audio-ozonic?amp Novation Ultranova, 37 full-sized synth-type action velocity-sensitive keys with aftertouch, S/PDIF output, 16‑bit or 24‑bit/48kHz https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/novation-ultranova?amp Roland Gaia SH01, 37 full-sized synth-type action velocity-sensitive keys, 16-bit/44.1kHz https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/roland-gaia-sh01?amp IK MULTIMEDIA iRig Keys 2, 37 velocity Mini-Keys, 16 or 24-Bit/44,1-48-88,2-96kHz https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/irigkeys2/ 32 keys : Edirol PCR-A30, 32 full-sized synth-type action velocity-sensitive keys, Digital Output (Optical Type Connector), 24-bit/96kHz https://www.roland.com/us/products/pcr-a30/ 25 keys : ESI NeON 25, 25 full-sized semi-weighted spring action keys https://www.esi-audio.com/products/neon/ M-Audio OZONE, 25 full-sized synth-type action velocity-sensitive keys, 24-bit/96kHz Edirol PCR 1, 25 full-sized half‑action limited travel velocity-sensitive keys, 24-bit/44,1-48-96kHz https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/edirol-pcr1?amp Behringer U-control UMA25S, 25 full-sized half‑action limited travel velocity-sensitive keys, 16-bit/32-44.1-48kHz https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/behringer-uma25s?amp Edited May 24, 2023 by Cuslea_FM Quote
