If you use an external source, you can send a signal/pattern/beat to midi channel 10 on the Px-5s (drums) through USB in the rear or through MIDI IN. Internally, you can program a beat (phrase) in the time sig you desire (4/4, 3/4, etc.) and play it on Zone 1 of a stage setting. Set Zone 1 to some kind of drum set and turn that zone off.
