  1. This is a unique acoustic piano patch which I find great fun to play (Touch setting: Light). Its hollowish sound in the r.h. register is what I'd call an "endearing flaw", making the piano IMO sound more real than many "perfect" piano patches. Speaking of endearing flaws, my Ensoniq KT-76 of decades ago had a user-supplied patch called FlawedRhodes or BeatUpRhodes, with dead sounding and overloud keys scattered at random across the keyboard. Also a lot of fun to play and a reminder of road-slug days.
  2. I really liked the soundcloud demo on this patch, where you call it a "subtle bass for the px-5s", but it is a .ZLT file so can only be loaded to an XK synth, not the PX-5S. Or am I wrong about that?
  3. SUBJECT: DOWNLOADING INDIVIDUAL FACTORY STAGE SETTINGS My situation is such that I cannot physically connect my PX-5S to my computer (an iMac, which is in a remote office) and thus to the online data editor. I've been using my thumb drive to download Forum sounds but until now never thought I'd need a factory SS. I inadvertently deleted my beloved Deckards Lead (3-3). How can I get it back?
  4. If you're willing to pay $1,000 and up you can get two powered PA speakers and stands. That's a lot to pay and a lot to shlep IMO. If you're decrepit and frugal like me ypu'll go for something less dear and more lightweight. I suggest either: (1) the Alto Kick 15. 43 lbs. Digital AP patches sound great through it. $450 but less when Guitar Center is having a sale. Or: (2) the Spacestation v.3. 40 lbs, stereo in a single unit, sits on the floor. $750 from Sweetwater, no discount. I currently have a Bose L1 Compact but it's only useful in smaller venues. I got mine at GC on a holiday (15% off) and with a trade-in so the price I paid was between the Alto and the v.3.
  5. "The system button is a short cut to the same menu you would arrive it if you pressed edit>stage setting>system effect edit. These apply to an entire stage setting so say for example you edit the type of reverb you want whether its Hall1, Hall2, Plate or custom etc . If you then apply reverb to any zone in a particular stage setting, it gets this reverb applied. You can't apply plate reverb to zone 1 and hall1 reverb to zone 2." ARE YOU SURE THE ABOVE IS TRUE, dc2k? I THINK I DID A SPLIT WITH ONE VOICE IN HALL2 AND THE OTHER IN ROOM.
  6. Superb retweaking, MV! This has become my go-to Rhodes on the PX-5S.
  7. Thank you, Goergtn -- I've fallen in love with your DGs Main Pno. I turned off the bass zone and extended the key range down to C- and it is now my preferred piano patch for band gigs. A big fat sound that effortlessly cuts through the din. Also love your brass patch. I replaced Brass Stabs with it and use it a lot. (Again, without the bass split.)
  8. Addendum on subject of LID SIMULATOR: Procedure I used successfully differed slightly from BradMZ's two posts back, though I couldn't have found the location without him. Press Edit>Tone>Effect>DSP Edit>Type[Piano Effect]>List Type[ ].
  9. Thank you, BradMZ -- you're invaluable!
  10. Subject: LID SIMULATOR The Casio literature claims the PX-5s contains a Lid Simulator, with 4 levels, for its grand piano Tones. For the life of me I can't find it though I've pored over the manuals and believe I've gone through all the parameter pages and screens. Can anyone help?
  11. Thank you, BradMZ, for answering my queries of Nov 11, though the answers ended up being more complicated than I would have wished. I now have another: is installing custom stage settings dependent on updating firmware? My PX-5S is new, and I have not yet loaded anything. I want to make use of MM's ALL file v 2.5 but I don't want to install 1.13 firmware due to forum posters' qualms. I must use a thumb drive as my iMac is in an office in another part of my home and is physically inaccessible for direct connection to the PX-5S. So, will custom settings work without at least 1.12 preinstalled? Thanks for your attention. This forum is terrific.
