orangewhip313
I picked this up yesterday and the manual doesn't seem to be all that helpful. I can't seem to find much as far as tutorial videos either. How do I make a beat? Can I edit a sample I import? I really don't have much experience with this type of gear but is it just me or could they have done a much better job with the manual? It seems like it jumps over a lot of core basic stuff. Brad Saucier
There is a second pdf manual online that goes deeper. The best way to use a manual is as a reference guide. The basic manual will outline the concepts behind the user interface and such. The tutorial manual will go deeper into explaining what each function is intended for. You'll also want to download and install the Trackformer studio software on a Mac or PC. It will lay out every control on your computer screen in a way that is easier to grasp. http://support.casio.com/en/manual/manualfile.php?cid=008014005 http://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=1096
orangewhip313
Yeah, I already downloaded that pdf. Still seems like some basics are missing. Guess I have to go buy whatever kind of usb cord wasn't included with the unit so I can hook it up to a computer.
orangewhip313
So there is a short tutorial video on the official Casio YouTube page. At the beginning of the video, the guy shows how to program a beat using steps, and then how to do it live. But when I do what he does the only result I get is a demo playing when I hit the play button. I have been able to figure some more advanced stuff out like changing sounds on a pad but I can't get anywhere with the most basic function of making my own beats. Both the printed manual and the pdf manual seem to breeze over the basics.
Brad Saucier
The cable you need is a common printer cable. If you have a usb printer, you'll have the cable already.
MaanTAZE
I'm in the same boat and trying to find anything I can on this here doohickey. I can offer this link of everything I've found thus far, including 4 PDF's and several folders of sound collections: http://www.mediafire.com/file/1uzbhownfwe5vzh/XW-PD1_RESOURCES_circa_112316.rar

A recent Youtube video is pretty good at showing the basics:
Grandmanattack
No you cannot edit a sound. Just reupload/rerecord.
