Brad Saucier
Dance Set 2? Drums in bluegrass music? I had no idea there would be a demand for bluegrass on the Px-5S. Stay tuned then. I have some phrases that will make you think that Flatt & Scruggs are in your Casio.
amaverick
If someone could add the spoons for percussion that would work. Also maybe a washboard sound. I have seen these in bluegrass before.
Hugh O Kelly
Well you guys from the US should know if there are any drums in bluegrasshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlcX6NAdptIJust wondering what the guy is playing with the drum sticks and snare drum ? I'm just a country boy from county Carlow,Ireland. If any one (Brad)has any good drum loops-blues/swing/R&R/soul?funk or bluegrass countryetc.PLEASE send them in because it is drum loops that works for me. Brad Saucier
From my perspective, that's more of a hybrid bluegrass/country arrangement in the video.. The second song in the video is Bill Monroe style bluegrass the way I think of bluegrass. BTW... Some of the ingredients in Bluegrass music come from traditional Irish music.
Hugh O Kelly
The more I look into itI have found we all come from the same place Looking forward to hearing good loops My wife wrote this lovely country song with a slow country swing beatI struggle to get it right(the bass player from Faith Hill's band likes it)
Brad Saucier
Hi Hugh, The phrases you made sound great. I would use them with the Brush Set myself. I'm working on a phrase and hex layer that will cover the rhythm without using percussion. One phrase and hex layer (probably placed on zone 2) will contain Acoustic Bass, Guitar, Mandolin and Banjo. Hugh O Kelly
Thanks Brad,The phrase is not authentic at all and quite frankly none of my drum loops are very good but that one makes me feel like playing. It is something to do with millisecond timing on the samples but I'm really pleased you like it.To me as long as it works……it works. When the dancers dance and have fun you know its not bad.Looking forward to hearing your phrase What I have found in real life is converting instruments to keyboards to get the right effect strange techniques have to be used. Brad Saucier
Your phrase is good. The timing is great. It will work perfectly with the one I'm making. It's in progress now and soon will be uploaded. Minor mixing tweaks and sound design work left to do as well as stage setting controllers to edit. Brad Saucier
Thank you. I'm a dangerous combination of banjo picker and Casio PX-5S sound designer. Just imagine what feats could be pulled off with a workstation keyboard and full pattern sequencer.
Hugh O Kelly
I'm delighted you showed just what can be done on the PX - 5xNow all we need is some soul, funk blues rock etc guys to write some brilliant phrases that work What I will do is put in some attempts and hopefully you guys will say I can do much better than that and then you do
Brad Saucier
Looking forward to your "attempts". I'm sure you'll do well.
