Privia GRAND Piano
By Xagerado
I edited this PIANO stagesettigs, because when I play in a live mix with other instruments, the original privia grand piano, and grand piano V2,download here are a little dark. The other pianos I download and check, hasn´t got good control for dinamics. Im a classical pianist, and I like all range control for play
this piano has more presence for live mix, and this weekend I will check. I think, now has a rich timbral, and you can control well with touch.
check the sound, and post review.
-------
Edit by Mike Martin.
I took the EQ settings you made in the Stage Setting and applied them just to the Piano itself using the DSP EQ. Now this EQ'd piano can be used in other Stage Settings.

Band Grand / Room Grand 1 & 2 (3 Piano Set)
By Brad Saucier
Band Grand - EQ'ed piano with shortened release time for a clean sound. This works well when bass guitar players are in the mix.
Improv Demo....https://soundcloud.com/bradmz/band-grand-demo
Room Grand - EQ'ed piano with shortened release time. This one adds room ambience and brings some bass back in for playing piano solo.
Demo...https://soundcloud.com/bradmz/room-grand-demo
Room Grand 2 - Deeper room acoustics than version 1 and louder sustain. Notice the key off action noises at the end of the demo. This version uses the master compressor. To ensure you are getting that effect: (Before you load the stage setting) Press System setting>General>Stage setting filter>Master compressor>Check that is set to OFF.

MaxPiano
By pianomax
My own attempt at building a "neutral" acoustic piano stage setting, I focused particularly on dynamics (master compressor and Tone amplifier velocity settings) and trying to correct the timbre of the central octave (F3-F4) which is where I really don't like the way the original PX5s piano samples sound (I tried to compensate using Master EQ and also trying a different Stretch Tuning setting in the Tone Pitch section)

Steinway+ GS
By StradMan
My concept for this Stage Setting was to have a single piano 'patch' that could do as many things as possible.
This is a piano with 3 additional sounds. Zone 2 is strings, zone 3 is a warm pad, zone 4 is FM rhodes. All three of these sounds default to 'off' (Actually they're on, just turned all the way down). You can mix them any way you need, and remember that by pushing the zone + and - buttons at the same time you can mute the piano (zone 1).
Slider 1 controls the volume of the strings.
Slider 2 controls the volume of the warm pad.
Slider 3 controls the volume of the FM rhodes.
Slider 4 is chorus (only on the rhodes).
Slider 5 is delay.
Slider 6 is reverb.
Mod wheel is tremolo on the rhodes.
This sound is EQed for the Spacestation keyboard amp, although it's probably fine for others too. There's some bottom end rolled off for playing this with a band. It you're playing solo, you might want more bass. K3 is bass, and K4 is low mids. Add as you need.

Old Upright

A significantly different type of piano sound for the PX-5S. The end result reminded me of my old Brambach upright. I like this piano played through speakers rather than headphones. Enjoy!

PA Concert Grand
By Brad Saucier
Yet another EQ'ed concert grand. This is a bright sound with good bass (smiley face EQ curve). This one offers help for those who may use problematic PA speakers and amps that make the piano sound muddy or dark. If you are a heavy handed player, adjust system settings>general>touch to heavy. Use LIGHT if are are a light player.

Steinway D with different EQ settings
By Andre Lever
I was not satisfied with those preset Grand Pianos, so I took a nicely altered Grand from another user and changed some parameters, especially EQ.
So here are five very good sounding Grands (in my ears), a dark/warm/mellow one, a bright one, a medium one.
I eliminated reverb and most of the pedal damper noise..
Faders 1-4 work as EQ (mostly), Fader 5 is for choosing frequency of Fader 6 (Gain) , you can make very fast changes with those two..
Now I am fullly satisfied with the Grand sound, like it more than any other stage piano´s Steinway. I am using it with a pair of Presonus Ceres 4.5 and this combination sings lovely!

Concert Grand Piano with Release Key Noise
By Brad Saucier
This Version of the Piano has Key Noises added. Release and Attack sounds are on a hex layer in Zone 2.
Slider 2 adjust the level of attack key noise which adds more low end to the attack that is contained in the original piano sample. The added noise is more apparent in the upper octaves.
Slider 3 adjust the level of release key noise. Adjust to taste.
The default levels were set using headphones. You'll need to adjust the levels depending on your listening environment and style of playing. Start by quickly adjusting the slider levels to the extremes while playing a few notes to get an idea of the sound your adding to the mix. Turn off Zone 1 to hear the key noise alone.
This Piano still includes Early Reflection DSP and the adjustable wet level for it is on Slider 5. Adjust to taste. The stock PX5 piano is dry. If you like a wetter sound then you should try this.
BTW. With Sliders 2, 3 and 5 all the way down this Piano becomes similar to the stock piano. You can get a lot of variation in the piano sound by just playing with all of the sliders and knobs on this stage setting.

This is a Piano based on the ConcertD but heavily modified in the EQ area. I also has a Hex layer of pads and strings etc that can be modified with the sliders. I use this sound in Worship a very ethereal sound can be achieved with a bright Concert sounding Piano. I have gone to alot of trouble to mix this righ AS IS even though you can easily use the sliders to radically change it.
Please note Slider 5 is very important. It controls the Hex layer as a whole in the mix so setting to zero youll get just the piano sound, All the way up youll get a strong mix of both. Sliders 1,2,3,4,and six control the volume elements of the HexLayer.
If you have the Hexlayer volume up yet play without the use of the sustain pedal and play a little bit staccato the piano will come through strongly and the hexplayer pads will drop right back to being almost unnoticeable.

RagTonk Tack Piano's (PX-5s)
By Brad Saucier
These are dramatically different piano's for the PX-5s. These are upright pianos with tacks applied to the hammer felt. Great for playing ragtime or honky tonk style piano. This piano represents a piano where microphones are not ideally placed. You can hear a lot of hammer noise, both at key strike and key release and some room acoustics being picked up as well.
Note: The modulation wheel gives a very special effect on this stage setting. It simulates analog "Wow" similar to off center vinyl record on a poorly setup turntable. A little modulation goes a long way here. Don't apply too much.
Note 2: Zone 2 of these stage settings is part of the piano sound. Do not overwrite zone 2. If you sequence this piano, you will need to sequence 2 channels. Zone 1 and Zone 2 make up this piano sound.
The stage settings included here are two variations of the same piano.
Tack Piano 2 ...has a dull bass range that allows the higher register to shine bright.
Tack piano 1... has brighter bass range for when you need a cutting rhythm.

SundayMorning
By JeremyS
Just wanted to share the stage setting that I usually use when playing at church.
4 zones: Pad, Strings, Piano, E Piano
Slider 1: Piano volume
Slider 2: Strings volume
Slider 3: Pad volume
Slider 4: E Piano volume
Slider 5: Delay
Slider 6: Aux volume
The Pad sound is based on the Maximilion stage setting, with some tweaks. I only have it sounding in the lower part of the keyboard (but shifted up an octave).

DLM Rock Piano
By dlm
This is my "go to" performance rock piano sound I use with my band (Old Time RnR, Takin Care of Bizness...you get the picture)
I guess this is my "secret gem"...It has some punch and growl down low, but not too much
Each slider controls the volume of each piano... I just use what I have them set for.
sliders 5 & 6 control delay and reverb... knobs1-4 are for eq "on the fly"
I hope you can use this!
