  1. American Bluegrass

Audio Demo of this is here: https://soundcloud.com/bradmz/american-bluegrass
    ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
American Bluegrass is a stage setting for playing a Bluegrass music rhythm. It contains a custom hexlayer tone on zone 2. Zone 2 covers Acoustic Bass, Guitar, Banjo and Mandolin. I created a phrase that plays all of the instruments in zone 2's hexlayer. Download the Phrase "Flat&Scruggs" and place it in user slot 141. Start the rhythm by pressing the A2 key. There is a range around A2 that will transpose the key of the recorded phrase. The range is small since the sound becomes unnatural outside of that range. Keep in mind that the PX-5S is not an Auto Accompaniment Keyboard. Auto-Accomp uses chord shifting and detection techniques that the PX-5S was never intended to need or use.
Download Scruggs2 Phrase in place of the Flatt&Scruggs Phrase to eliminate the major 3rd notes.
Sliders 1-4 turn on/off the different instruments in the rhythm.
Slider 6 adjust the overall volume of the rhythm.
Slider 5 turns on/off zone 1 for no good reason.

  2. Metronome_Package

This package enables to have metronom with each StageSetup
It includes a Song "Metonome" and the Phrase "Metronome".
With this "Song" you will have a 99 Bar Metronome.
You could have more if, you multiply the phrase in a external Midi Sequencer.
If you run out, simply press "Start" again.
This is my first test, building a package. I hope this works for you.
A package ZPK contains more than one file.
In this case it replaces (without asking) Song 9 (please save a Song if you have one already in that location)
It replaces the phrase 999 (please save phrase 999 if you already have used it9
Load the PC Editor and select "Package Transfer.
Then drag the file from Windows File Manager to the left side "PC Package Files"
Then select "Metronomesong.ZPK" and cklick on the blue arrow between the windows.

  3. 4ZonesRay4Sliders

Many Thanks to Mike Martin for creating the original of this Stage Setting!
This is the Meat and Potatoes of a Perfect stage setting that can so easily be customized to the users tastes
With the first 4 sliders controlling the volumes of the 4 zones really useful..
I took his creation and used some different sounds to create a great EP or Grand Piano Pad
Used 2 separate Hex Layers in the first 2 zones Used Mikes original in the first zone and used Ice Castles Hex Layer in the 2nd zone - Put Ep 1 on the last zone with a nice string pad on Zone 3
The thing that I love about this Thanks to Mike is that you can bring the sounds in at will changing from EP Pad to Grand Piano Pad in the middle of a song...
Awesome - Thanks Mike - I hope you don't mind me altering this because the original is so great..

  6. Sailing Christopher Cross

This is a Stage Setting programmed for the song Sailing by Christopher Cross.
Pedal 2 is assigned to filter and when pressed is intended to be used on the chorus of the song. The pedal it's programmed to momentary so you need to press it and hold it down as long as you want the filter to be opened and release it when you want the darker-closer sound which is intended for the verse.
You can also play the original piano solo with this sound (I forgot to play in this video,SORRY) by lowering down Slider 2 on which is assigned the Expression for the Pad & Guitar.
The Strings intro is the original audio file from the song that I cut out and palyed back from the PX5S thumb drive.
I was trying to upload the wave file also as a part of the download but it seams that the file is too big to be uploaded on the forum (2mb) so here you have the Stage Setting that I'm using on this video that was done on NAMM 2015.

Hope you like it and thatt will be usefull for you,

  14. Walking Accompaniment

This is kind of a cheesy attempt, but it was more to prove to myself that I could program something like this with the arpeggiator. First time around, it took about 30-45 minutes from inception to me uploading this.
This "auto-accompaniment" for the PX-5S in a walking bass style. The lowest octave is reserved for drums, the next two octaves for bass and brass. Because the PX-5S is not an accompaniment keyboard, it won't figure out the chord roots, so you'll have to play them in root position. It uses the arpeggiator for the walking bassline and for the brass hits, and a phrase for the drumset (in slot 103). The rest of the keyboard is open to the piano.

  17. XWnPXPerf.zip

I noticed a performance list file that seemed popular on this site, so I thought I'd put up my list for keeping track of my XW-P1 User Performance List and PX-5S Stage Settings List. It's different from other lists I've seen, as I've changed the structure quite a bit from the original set. If you have 2 synths like me, it may come in handy if you edit this with your settings... especially if you have the XW and PX. Its an Excel file.

  20. TIP: Setting up Sliders for Volume control

Assuming that you're using the Data Editor software. Instructions here has accompanying screenshots, in respective order. This is how I set, say Slider1, for volume of multiple zones.
    1. On the Stage Setting tab/Zone sub-tab of the Parameter Edit screen, enable Slider1 for all the zones that you want to set the volume control for. See Capture01.png
    2. On the Stage Setting tab/Common sub-tab of the Parameter Edit screen, set the Target1 to Volume. See Capture02.prg
To set up individual Slider per zone:
    1. Set all Target to Volume for Sliders 1 - 4. Set Min = 0 and Max = 127. See Capture04.png
    2. In the Stage Settings, enable Slider1 for Zone1 and disable Sliders 2-4. Enable Slider2 for Zone 2 and disable Sliders 1, 3 & 4. So on.
    3. Optional: In Stage Settings, Set ALL four zones' volume to 0 so you can flush Sliders1-4 all the way down at the after selecting the Stage Setting..
There is one thing that I would like to highlight - which I think is applicable to all Slider setup. In the 3rd screenshot, Capture03.png, is the Mixer tab which I highlighted the Level (volume) of Zones 1, 2, & 4 which uses Slider1. The default level is 40 in this case. In Capture02.prg, I highlighted the Min and Max values - where the Min is 20.
What this does is that if I set ALL my sliders to lowest (all the way down), the Initial volume of Zones 1, 2 & 3 is 40 when I pick the Stage Setting. And my Slider1 will be at 20. If I just nudge Slider1 up a bit, the value will probably be around 25-30 and this will have an effect of like a "bounce" or "skip" of the volume - in this case from 40 to 25. It's kinda annoying if you're already playing and you adjust it midway through the song. To work around this, set your Slider1 up to 40 or around it before you start playing - then sliding it Up or Down will have the desired effect while playing.
    Hope this helps.

  22. Police Siren

This is one of my favourite PX sounds. :-) An attempt to capture the old 2 tone police siren. This stage setting is a result of a collaboration between myself and Brad. (Many thanks Brad!) It has the siren sound at the bottom of the PX and the analogue lead sound from the Vintage keys pack at the top. The siren has been detuned so is particularly effective if played over the top of the rest of the band.... :-)

  23. Galileo organ (on ipad) controller

This is my Stage setting for PX-5S, designed to control the Galileo organ app.
I have mapped it in the following way, so that the PX will control the following things in Galileo:
    Slider 1: Upper drawbar 16'
    Slider 2: Upper drawbar 51/3'
    Slider 3: Upper drawbar 8'
    Slider 4: Upper drawbar 4'
    Slider 5: Upper drawbar 22/3'
    Slider 6: Upper drawbar 2'
    Knob 1: Upper drawbar 13/5'
    Knob 2: Upper drawbar 11/3'
    Knob 3: Upper drawbar 1'
    Knob 4: Vibrato on/off

    Pitch bend wheel: Pitch bend
Mod wheel: master volume. I have set this for a range from 50 - 100 (I anticipate using it at about 50 but it is early days yet. Be sure to adjust it if necessary to how you want it.)

    Pedal 1: Rotary fast/slow
    Pedal; 2: Rotary brake

This is my first venture into the realm of midi, and also my first attempt to properly map organ controls. Please let me know if I need to make any changes - especially if I have left out something important. I hope to end up with the definitive Galileo controller at some point......... I also hope it may be of some use to you.

  24. Mojo Organ

This is a Stage Setting I created to use the PX-5S as a lower manual for my Crumar Mojo61. It is silent so that I don't have to turn down the volume on the PX-5S. Sliders 1-6 are the first six drawbars, Knobs 1-3 are the last three (usually don't use these on the lower manual of a Hammond anyway). Knob 4 is C/V selection, and Modulation controls Run/Stop on the rotary effect (because that's how I roll. It can easily be changed to Slow/Fast). I found I had to set the range of the output to 126-128 to split the switch between the two states evenly on the wheel.

  25. Military Warfare

This is the SS from a song we did called "Military Warfare". It consists of a couple custom sound effects.
Key F5 triggers an air-raid siren.
Pedal 1 will toggle a hold on the siren and Slider 2 is the volume for the siren.
The Mod Wheel will "wind" the siren down and up, must be rolled smoothly to sound realistic. Use the tips of your forefinger and thumb, hold them at a 90-degree angle to your forearm and use your whole arm to move the wheel down and up.
The siren will wind up when it's triggered and wind down when it's released.

The lowest 4 or 5 keys are made to simulated a marching army, strike them as a slightly-broken staccato chord.

Sliders 5 and 6 control delay and reverb, for most venues I have these full up.

Other keys are mapped to the standard gunshot sound, no frills there.

    Enjoy!
