  1. Guys I must say this is quite impressive. We'll probably find out more during today's special event. https://youtu.be/owyIirnMpfQ Vinciane
  2. OK I checked. In fact it is at 7 PM in Brussels and in Paris.
  3. A timing question: could a moderator please tell us at what time, Paris hour, the special event about the CT-S1000V and CT-S500 will take place exactly in Europe? I sure don’t want to risk missing the presentation. Thanks 😊
  4. Well… I guess that your questions will be answered tomorrow… a few hours of patience yet 🙃
  5. Thanks @Brad Saucier Well it is back now but yesterday it had completely disappeared 🙄
  6. As in the title. I was trying to find some old posts about the CT-S1 and CT-S400 to reread them and this section of the forum seems to be gone… Anybody has got a clue about what happened? Vinciane
  7. @Jokeyman123You know what is really sweet? With the Midi over Bluetooth module, if you’ve got both MIDI implementation charts, you could probably control all the functions of the new CT-S1000v from the MZ2000. Now ain’t that cool? 😎 A think I am really looking forward to is the programmable arpeggiator. Man this is hot stuff. Together with the AiX sound engine and the speech synthesis and the portamento function, the new Casiotone seems tailored for EDM. The audio in the video teasers made me think about ELO’s Mister Blue Sky. Can’t wait for January 20th. And with the pandemics, I hope that we won’t have to wait for months before the new keyboards will hit the shelves.
  8. Well there is one other usage I can imagine to style MIDI output, and it is exporting style data from one Casio keyboard to another with a better sound engine. Vinciane
  9. Hmmm… a songbank in a speech synthesis synth I have doubts quite frankly 🤔
  10. Well, it depends. Behind its “basic” UI, actually the CT-S400 is more powerful than the CT-X800 because you can assign the arpeggiator to any of the three voices, you can (eventually!) adjust the relative volume of the voices (MIXER function) and you can also pan the voices in the stereo space for more vivid compositions. You can also copy/paste tracks between two MIDI recordings which is really handy.
  11. Hi @Mike MartinI strongly hope that the second keyboard on the picture will have 5 octaves/61 keys and the the K1/K2 control knobs are assignable. If that’s the case I’ll order one at once.
  12. Thanks @Just AlexI really appreciate. Have a nice Sunday Vinciane
  13. Hi Alex, if you are still doing conversions from Yamaha to Casio, could you please do the following two styles, Thank you in advance. Vinciane DreamDance.Sty JazzClub.sty
  14. Hi nice job. I like the saxophone line very much.
  15. @Casio Key I wouldn’t mind an arranger but with more control buttons and sliders on it, in the like of Yamaha’s PSR SX series, but with the AiX chip sound engine. Could be nice. When the CT-S1 and CT-S400 hit the shelves, in the first teaser video, there were some intriguing pictures of a board with control knobs. I am hoping that maybe the CT-X5000 equivalent in the CT-S line might be in the making. Winter NAMM…?
  16. Nice job overall but too much use of the crash cymbal IMHO. Which rhythm did you use?
  17. I I just listened to your track. This is great. Is it an original composition? It has a nineties feel about it. I like very much the unexpected modulation at the end of the track. I am also impressed by the fact that you made your own personal rhythm especially for this track. Well done 😎
  18. Hi @Brad Saucierand thanks for your input. There are several flute tones on the CT-X800, so this could make a good basis. Actually there are two delay effects in the reverb section of the keyboard. As for the vibrato, I could use some chorus or flanger, I guess. Also, I might be able to emulate the tape effect through layering the same flute tone twice… let’s get creative. If I manage to achieve something palatable, I’ll document this here. Regards, Vinciane
  19. Hello everybody, I find the Tape Flute tone of the CT-S1 super cool and very nice to play tunes such as “Lucy in the Sky”, for instance. Has someone some ideas on how to design a suitable patch to emulate this Tape Flute on the CT-X700 or CT-X800? This probably would involve some layering of a regular flute and a synth pad, maybe the use of some chorus or flanger. Any suggestions? Vinciane
  20. Hi @Piano Tone, nice demonstration, you really are showing the dynamic possibilities of the various tones, which is really useful. I agree, Split would have been an useful function of this keyboard. Is it still possible to layer a second tone on the preset bass/piano split tone? I think that the micro USB socket is a Host connector, not a Device connector. Out of curiosity, which Yamaha piano do you have? Mine is a DGX650 and I like it’s main piano tone and key action very much. Any idea of when you’ll release the longer review of the CT-S1? Vinciane
  21. Hello everybody, Since all topics pertaining to the new CT-S1 and CT-S400 seem to be landing in this part of the forum, isn’t it time to adapt the sub-forum title to accommodate those keyboards? Also, since much of what applies to the CT-X700/800 also applies to the CT-S400, it might be interesting to pin a topic in the CT-X700/800 forum pointing people who’re looking for information about the CT-S400 to the present forum section. Just my 2 cents, Vinciane
  22. As regards Sax Section 1, has it occurred to you that the panning might have been set to mimic the positioning of the various saxophones in a real saxophone quartet, for instance? I doubt that Casio would have done such a big mistake in sound design, I think they did this on purpose.
