  1. Hey, Jokeyman, thanks for chiming in. Yes, it seems to me in regular single mode (default) setting sustain goes out on channels 1,2,3, and 4 on the PX350. I don't see a way of changing that. It seems like the CTK-7200 does allow to you control that. I think in the CTK7200 Function Setting you can turn off the effect in different "parts". And I think by turning effects off in different "parts", it means you are controlling the midi channels the effect is sent on. (I have not experimented too much with the CTK-7200 menu, so I could be wrong). It does not look like the PX350 provides the same control. But, I think I will be able to resolve this in GP (but I have not tried yet). I think all I need to do is restrict the midi input blocks so each block only controls a particular device (instead of omni) So, in each rackspace I would not use omni for my midi block in. Instead, for example, for the CTK-7200, my midi input would be set to my CTK-7200 and it would be limited to receiving midi on channel 3. Then whenever I was using the PX350, I would have the midi input block only send data from the PX350 and I would filter all channels except channel 1. So, that way the sustain effect sent from my CKT-7200 should not affect my sounds (in GP) controlled by my PX350 and sustain effect sent from my PX350 should not effect my sounds (in GP) controlled by the CTK-7200. I will let you know how it goes. Jeff
  2. Hello, Brad, I am using a portable sustain pedal (not a triple pedal). Jokeyman123 , if you get some free time.....(and you still have a PX350).... Jeff
  3. Everything I am doing indicates that on the PX350 the sustain pedal sends out midi data on channels 1, 2, 3 and 4 simultaneously. It appears that there is no way to disable/limit that. (I am not using layers or splits) Any confirmation (or better yet, correction, if I am wrong) is appreciated. Jeff
  4. Thanks for responding, Brad. As far as I know I am not using splits and layers. Yes, that is what it seems to me. I can try to double check that splits and layers is turned off. But, I've spent many hours playing the keyboard and, to my knowledge, I am not using splits or layers. Jeff
  5. Hello? It looks like I can control this in my CTK 7200. But, it looks like I can't control this in my PX350? Jeff
  6. Hello, I am using my PX350 (and CTK7200) as midi controllers with Gig Performer (using a Windows laptop). In my setup I only want to use the PX350 to send on channel 1 and the CTK7200 to send on channel 3. In general this seems to work as hoped. BUT, when I use the sustain pedal attached to my PX350 it sends controller messages on midi channels 1 through 4. (As does the sustain pedal attached to my CTK-7200). So, I would like to change the setting so the sustain pedal attached to my PX350 only sends out messages on channel 1. And I would like to change the settings on my CTK7200 so it only sends sustain messages out on channel 3. Of course, once I make the change, I would like it to remain that way when I use my keyboard again at a different time/day (i.e., the setting remains after turning off the keyboard). Thanks for any help with this. Jeff
  7. There can be a maximum of one split (Upper and Lower). Only the Upper Layer is available to layer (max two layers)(Upper 1 and Upper 2, I think). You cannot layer on the lower split. So, you can have a lower and upper split and a layer on the upper part. That pretty much taps it out. Jeff
  8. Thank you for responding, Brad. So, what if I want to change ordinary presets? It looks like this may be the issue. Incoming midi is really only intended for the sequencing functions. So, it looks like an external device cannot be used to select a regular presets/user tones. {I am hoping I am wrong, but this is what it looks like]. Jeff
  9. Hello, I am desperately trying to get my CTK-7200 to respond to program changes sent from Gig Performer. (To change a preset tone). My CTK-7200 sends midi data fine. I am taking full advantage of the 3 midi buttons and 9 sliders (in drawbar mode) to send midi data from my CTK-7200 to Gig Performer (GP). But, so far I have not been able to get it to respond to program changes (PC) sent from GP. I know the midi connection is fine. I know GP is sending out the PC data to my CTK-7200. (I have been working with the GP people). I am using the Program Change and bank select data in the appendix. To be exact, I am trying to get it to change to PolySynth 2. Program Change 90 and Bank Change (MSB) 1, Can you think of any setting I need to tweak? Any suggestions? Thanks, Jeff
  10. I am looking for some guidance on what program change and bank to send from my laptop to the CTK-7200 to select a certain registration on my CTK-7200. Could it be as straight forward as the actual bank and number for the Registration on the CTK-7200? What about for a drawbar organ user tone? I guess that is in the appendix? (For example Drawbar Organ Sound No. 100.) Jeff
  11. So, I think I would need create a split in the Registration. And I would want to use the lower split, which sends data on Channel 3. And in order to keep the synth from sending data on channel 1 (or any other channel), I would make the highest note on the keyboard the split point. (And hopefully never touch that while performing). In Gig Performer, I would set it up so it only responds to data on channel 3. I will try this and let you know. [And I just realized that my little CTK-7200 has 3 buttons that send midi cc data, in addition to the 9 sliders (Duh!). If everything comes along as I hope, my little CTK-7200 will turn out to be a decent keyboard to use as a controller for VSTs on a laptop, while still allowing me to use all the internal sounds/registrations that I have become accustomed to using.]
  12. Thanks, Brad, I think I am pretty close. In the past I have just used Registrations for splits and layers. I think I have to figure out how to use a registration to just play a single '"sound" (the drawbar organ user sound that does not generate any internal sound) on a single channel other than Channel 1, with no midi data sent on other channels (or at least not on the channel I am using for the Drawbar Organ I use). Jeff
  13. Okay, I think I figured something out. If anyone could chime in to confirm (or correct or add new info, I'd appreciate it). It seems like the default midi channel to transmit note on messages is Channel 1. So, if I just pick a preset/user tone piano or other it will transmit on Channel 1. (I don't know if you can change that. If you know, please let me know). But, it seems there is a way accomplish what I want by making the drawbar organ a registration. Then I can select what "part" to make it. I think part 2 sends midi on channel 2. So, if I set it up so the tone I want is on Part 2/midi channel two and a filter out all other midi data on other channels, that may work. I still have to figure out how that relates to upper 1, upper1 and lower tones (which would normally part 1/midi channel 1, part 2/midi channel 2, and part 3/midi channel 3 respectively. Okay, off to work..... Jeff
  14. So far I am having some success is using my CTK-7200 for some midi controller uses (I still overwhelming us onboard sounds). I have the CTK-7200 connected to my laptop running Gig Performer (GP) As of now I use a particular user drawbar tone (tweaked so it does not generate sound internally in the CTK-7200) so I can utilize the controller sliders to send midi data (volume being the most important one). So, now the questions is if/how I can use it in the same song that I use onboard CTK-7200 sounds. Is there a way to control the midi channel so the tone I use (a draw bar sound) uses a different midi channel than other tones on the keyboard. (Then in GP I could filter out all the other midi channels). As noted above, right now I am just using a particular drawbar tone which does not create any sound internally. But, if I need to save it as a registration, that is fine. Thanks for any help. Jeff
