  1. Hello, Okay, I am an idiot. I am not sure which user tones I created (which are used for a song that I have a chart for) and which are default (which I am not using). So, I don't know which user tone space to use for a new one. If I had a list of the default user tones, I can be pretty comfortable I can write over them and they are not used for any songs I do. Can anyone refer me to such a list? (I tried googling it without luck). The other option is to impose on someone to list the following ten (10) User Tones: K:011 through K:20. Sorry for the imposition (and thanks for any help). (I am creating a document listing all my user tones now.) Jeff
  2. I guess the question is self explanatory. I know there are Upper 1, Upper 2, and Lower tones available in Registrations. But, it looks like you can only split the keyboard in half (no more than 2 "zones") (and use the 3rd to layer) But, if there is a way to split keyboard into 3 zones (lower, upper 1 and upper 2), I would like to know. Thanks! Jeff
  3. Thanks for such a quick response, Brad, Yep, I got that. I guess I am trying to be a bit frugal with Registration tones because I have used about half of them and I am doing more and more splits and layers. And, I guess I would prefer not to get into swapping out banks of Registrations from a SD card. (I actually have this sax sound stored in a different Registration, but there is no room in that bank for the other sound I am using). But I found a work around. Basically it will call up the last User Tone (In this case) used within a Registration. So, before I start the song, I will go to Registration button 1 and then dial User Tone K012. So, now, when I clear the Registration by hitting button 1, and then hit the User Tone bank, it recalls K:012. It takes a bit longer before starting the song, but not too excessive. Thanks again, for the quick response. Jeff
  4. Hello, I am hoping someone can give me some insight on my question. I am using a Registration to play a split. So, I have my keyboard set up so the Registration Number 1 of each bank does not contain a split or octave change. etc. This way, when I have to move quickly between a Registration sound (probably not correct term) to a non-Registration sound, I just hit Registration button 1 of the bank I am in to clear any octave changes/splits etc So, in one particular song I use a Registration sound (split). And I also want to use a modified Sax that is stored as User Tone (for a sax solo in the song). So, my thought was I would just button Registration button 1 of that bank to clear the split and then hit the User Tone bank button, which I had previously set for "K:012", which is the (modified) sax sound I want. But, for some reason, when I do this, it switches to User Tone K:001, rather than User Tone K:012. Can anyone explain this? Is there some setting that changes it to k:001 that I am not aware of? Hmm, I have done some experimentation. I wonder if it always reverts to the last Registration Tone you used in that bank? (And if there was none, it goes to tone "1" of the bank?) Thanks. Jeff
  5. I guess I will continue and see if anyone responds. Ideally, I could just have additional banks of Registration on the memory card, So, for example Registration Banks 17 through (let's say) 64 could be stored on the SD Card and I could seamlessly access them the same as the on board Registration Banks. Unfortunately, I don't think that's how it works. I think you basicially if you want to access Registration Banks you have to load the full Registration Banks from the SD Card. So, you cannot get seamless access to both the SD Card Registration Banks and the onboard Registration Banks? If you load the SD Card Registration Banks, you lose immediate access to the onboard Registration Banks? Thanks for any input. I am curious how people use Registration Banks on their SD Card if they basically have used up all the onboard slots.
  6. Hello, I am using up more Registration slots (and User Tone) slots on songs for various bands in my CTK-7200. Although I have not yet used half, I would like to get more information on how people handle this as they get closer to using up all the slots. Like many of you, I have spent a decent amount of time creating splits/layers, etc. so I can call them up quickly to use in songs. I think you can store addition Registrations and User Tones on an SD Card (or other memory). Any information on the optimal way to handle this and how simple it is to call up stored Registrations (User Tones) during gigs etc. is appreciated (feel free to refer me to other resources. . . .I will look at the manual). Thanks, Jeff
  7. Just to follow up on this, I have decided that I am going to reserve Button 1 of each Registration Bank for sounds that do not have Splits/Registration Octave Changes/ etc. So, I will know whenever I leave that Registration to first hit button 1 of that Registration to clear those (changing banks to access a button to clear this takes too long) I have no doubt that, from the perspective of a keyboard player (rather than a programmer), it would be good to have the option that default settings (no Splits/Registration Octave Changes/Etc.) are restored when returning to a preset or user tone. Jeff
  8. Hello, I seem to have lost a couple of the little plastic covers on top of the organ slider on my CTK-7200. Anyone know where I can order replacements? Jeff
  9. Hah! Thanks. Not too much misery here. I can work around the issue, and I am happy with my two Casio keyboards. (I suspect that this feature may make its way into lower end models.)
  10. Thanks. All I I meant by the word "part" was to distinguish each from each registration "bank". On the left top of the registration section (in silkscreen print) it says "bank", then numbers 1-6 are written above the next six buttons, followed by the "store" button. I guess I could have just called it a "Registration". (No need to respond to this).
  11. Hello, T, thanks. I am far from a pro with this stuff, trying to figure out the best way to approach different challenges. I think I get it. I guess you do not have to use up a "user tone" (or user rhythm) (unless you are editing something that cannot be done within a registration part). Rather, you would just save the transpose offset in each registration part. Does that make sense(?). Jeff
  12. Jason Raj, so I think the answer (work around) is: 1. For songs where you are transposing, do not use Registrations for those sounds. or 2. If there is a reason you really need to use a Registration (e.g., you are using split keyboard for some parts, etc) for multiple sounds, edit all the tones you need by transposing them and save them (user tones) and then use them within the Registrations. (Then you will be stuck with that transposed version of all the parts. . . and use up user tone and registration slots.) I think this is right. . . . .
  13. Yes, I always thought this is one of the few gaps in this synth line.
  14. I guess if you play it, it keeps returning to this position? I think there are times where I have observed something similar to this, but I played/hit the key a bunch of times and it seemed to fix itself (you probably tried this, but I figured I'd post abut my experience anyway). Jeff
  15. I would just scroll through the E-pianos and decide what sounds closest (the name of the patch might also give you a hint).
  16. I think they problem is you have to set the channels in the sequence so they are triggering the right sound on the keyboard?
  17. FWIW, I have more of a problem getting sufficient volume out of my Privia (current and former) than my CTK-7200. In particular, the Rhodes piano and Harpsichord had been tougher to get the volume I needed (I am hoping the new amp will resolve this issue).
  18. After doing some research, I picked up a Behring KDX15, which just came in. (I received (via email) 15% coupon from Musician's Friends, so got a great price). It is lighter (weight) than its predecessor K3000FX, which I had been using for about 10 years, I think. Got very good reviews in terms of power, etc. (Maybe compare it to the Roland KC600, which is more expensive). Oh, in terms of keys, I have a PX350 and CTK-7200. I am planning to plug it in to use it for the first time this weekend. Jeff PS: I just read above about Arranger keyboard and I disagree. The CTK-7000 should include pretty much every sound you would want. All the arranger/sequencing stuff is (inexpensive) add-ons (I don't us those functions). Frankly, I think most keyboard players only use about 10% of the functions of the keyboard. The issue is whether this has what you need (and you probably won't know until you've been using it for a few years). I think a bigger issue may be whether you (also) want a weighted keyboard for piano parts. If so, you could probably pick up a PX160 and be fine (I used a CTK6200 and PX150 for along time, and worked pretty well until I ran out of user tones on the CTK6000).
  19. Anyone know? I wouldn't think this is so uncommon. If it can only be done as a registration, I'll work around that. But, trying to find out if I am missing something (because I'd prefer to safe it as drawbar user tone, if possible). Thanks, Jeff
