  1. As always, thank you Brad. Until today, I had never noticed that on the "Transfer" screen there was a drop down menu to select things other than Stage Setups... DUH!!! Live and learn. Thanks again.
  2. I recently saved some stage setups to my PC using the utility and loaded them into a different PX5S. Two of the stage setups had linked drum phrases. The phrases did not get copied to the new PX5S with their corresponding stage setups. What's the proper way to backup and restore a stage setup that would include the linked phrase?
  3. Brad, It worked like a charm. That's the fourth or fifth of my silly programming questions to which you've quickly responded with a workable answer. You're a treasure that Casio is lucky to have. I hope they're paying you what your worth. thanks again, Craig
  4. I have a stage setup that includes the GrPno Modern piano. For this setup I'd like to reduce the velocity sensitivity of GrPno Modern. I edit the tone, tone/amp/velocity sense and save but the change doesn't get changed. Is there a way around this?
  5. Thank you Brad. That worked. Didn't need to update. This is one of many questions to the forum that you've answered for me. Thank you for the quick response. You are greatly appreciated. -Craig
  6. I've seen this asked a couple times but no answer that works for me. I've recorded a couple backing tracks and named them TAKExx so they will play back. Is there a way to change the playback volume other than changing the volume of the recorded file? Thanks in advance for any advice, -Craig

This is a classic big synthesizer sound. Think Oberhiem or something like that. All four slots are loaded with detuned sawtooth waves. Only slot four is set with a resonant filter sweep. Leaving the other three oscillators without resonant filtering allows for filter sweep without losing fatness. Only slot one is configured for portamento. This allows you to play fast figures using portamento without the sloppy sound portamento can sometimes give plus the nice effect as the portamento oscillator slides into tune with the others. It’s an especially good effect if you’re running though distortion much like when a guitar player bends one string up to unison with another string that’s sounding. Likewise, vibrato is only configured for one slot to get the growl as one oscillator cycles in and out of tune with the others. Slider 1 - Intensity of the filter sweep Slider 2 - portamento time Pedal 1 - toggles portamento off/on Slider 3 – distortion Slider 4 – chorus Slider 5 – delay Slider 6 - reverb Sample audio contains a Christmas song snippet https://soundcloud.com/craig-yeutter-586747245/big-synth
  8. Brad... You Are a GENIUS!!! That did it. All my pedal settings are now local to only the stage settings they are configured in. Thank you so much for taking time out of your Sunday afternoon to help me with this. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend, -Craig
  9. Thanks Brad, Your expertise if much appreciated. You've been amazingly prompt and helpful many times in the past. What I'm seeing is if I'm in any stage setting and make a change to the behavior of pedal 1 ( Haven'd tried pedal 2 ), those changed parameters are then present in every other stage setting in my PX 5S. It doesn't work like that with sliders and knobs. Their settings seem to be localized to only the current stage setting. Settings for the pedal, however, seem to be global in that they affect all stage settings. In my synth patch, I set pedal 1 to toggle portamento. Then I tried a couple pianos and found the pedal was trying to toggle portamento there also. In one of the piano stage settings, I then set pedal 1 back to "hold". When I went back to my synth stage setting I found pedal 1 was no longer toggling portamento, it was now doing "hold". Am I missing a setting that would localize the function of pedal 1 to only the current stage setting?
  10. I was building a big synth patch and within the stage setting set foot pedal 1 to toggle portamento off and on. It worked great and I was happy until I tried a few of my piano sounds and realized pedal 1 no longer worked for sustain. It was trying to toggle portameno off and on. Did I do something wrong? Is there a way to set the pedal target in a stage setting without affecting all sounds on the PX 5S?
  11. Beautiful sounds!! Thank you for sharing Corneliu.

Not a string pad with piano. Fast attack and short decay string sound one octave above the piano to emulate a string section playing fast passages along with your piano. Works best in the center third of the keyboard. Slider 2 controls the strings one octive up Slider 3 controls strings in the same octave. In my opinion, fast strings in the same octave doesn't work as well as the octave up and can tend to sound more like a steel drum. For fun, I try to include a Christmas song in my Soundcloud samples https://soundcloud.com/craig-yeutter-586747245/piano-fast-strings

  14. I missed this one but watched it on YouTube. I hope to participate in the next one. Thanks Mike for doing these. They're great!!
