  1. Unless you want to collapse the piano stereo image, I would not suggest selecting a mono DSP setting for the pianos. The pianos are stereo samples.
  2. RCF, Try the Stage Piano preset. I like it better than the default Grand Piano Concert in the middle octaves around middle C. This area is where the Grand Piano Concert tone loses definition and has a bit of a muted “plunky” tone. It’s not bad, it just doesn’t sound as good as the upper and lower octaves on this tone. The Stage Piano tone does not have this issue. This tone has clarity across the board. I’m amazed how well balanced from lowest to highest octaves. Casio, Take the Stage Piano tone and create a new version digital piano called PX-S4000 that offers this tone which offers12 sample layers for every key with FULL length samples ( no loops). Everyone will buy this keyboard from Stage pros to home users. Maybe create another series name instead of Privia. Sell for $999.00 USD. Also, please offer a good Rhodes sample. Listen to Jeff Lorber for this tone:
  3. Hmm, I have yet to try the line outs. I guess I better check it out. Since the line outputs appear to be 1/4" unbalanced, these outs should be -10dBV. Since many have used the line outputs with success, unless there's something wrong with your keyboard, you may need verify the audio inputs trims on your mixer are adjusted up for -10 levels.
  4. My PX-S3000 switched tones when I was playing last weekend. I was on battery power and it occurred seconds before a low battery message. Maybe you have an issue or intermittent issue with your power supply.
  5. The chorus in both sections is stereo. The DSP has the capability of setting the dry/wet mix. When set to full wet and turning down the dry it has a nice stereo spread. The chorus setting in the top level ( where you can set the chorus type) appears to to have no ability to control the chorus wet/dry mix. It’s just passing to much dry signal which collapses your perception of the wider stereo effect. Unless I’m missing this control somewhere... I don’t think so.
  6. The chorus in the DSP section appears to function correctly offering wide stereo image, but only when you turn down the dry and turn up the wet within its DSP settings. So yes, the chorus within the DSP section has the controls for wet/dry mix. Too bad you have to give up your DSP setting set to stereo EQ(for example), for a stereo chorus with wet/dry mix ability. We need the ability to adjust stereo EQ and also have the stereo chorus with dry/wet mix capabilities. The chorus used under [sound] does not seem to have any control ability. Is this chorus here a global setting? I only see the control to change chorus type here. The assignable knobs can offer the required chorus send, it just has little stereo spread compared to the chorus under the DSP. My guess is it has to much dry signal. Is there a way to adjust dry/wet for this chorus. Again, only the DSP chorus offers this control (from what I can tell). If this was a design overlook, it would be easy to implement in a firmware upgrade. Just have the engineering team have the wet level set to max with zero dry. We already control how much of the tone is sent to chorus using the knobs. I wish there was a graph that shows us the internal bussing within the PX-S3000. Color me confused on how these two chorus sections work?
  7. Yes Mike. I use the knobs set to Rev/Chorus. When I turn up the chorus send, I certanly hear plenty of chorus effect. There's just not much of a stereo effect to it. As I mentioned before, it's as if there's a dry mix of the tone in parallel with the chorus effect. The stereo effect seems very subdue even when listening in headphones. Am I missing a effect dry/wet mix control somewhere?
  8. Thanks for the reply. I mainly use headphones, but it’s the same on all outputs.
  9. Please help me understand why the Chorus effect on the PX-S3000 seems to only have a slight stereo effect (if that)? It doesn't seem to matter which chorus configuration is turned on under function/sound/effect/Chorus type. Even the DSP chorus settings doesn't seem to help the stereo spread. It's almost as if there's a dry to wet mix that's centered or at least leaning towards dry. Is there a control I'm missing here?
