  1. The PX-5S responds to all standard General MIDI messages. Any pedal/software combination capable of sending those messages to the PX-5S would work. As a standalone instrument, the PX-5S supports two standard switch type pedals. Each one can be assigned a different function.
  2. You can attempt to connect a flash drive containing the firmware update, then power up the piano. It may recover from the flash drive. If it does not, unfortunately it will need servicing.
  3. Unfortunately an audio clip was never provided for this thread. In my experience, words can never replace an audio clip.
  4. The D key is definitely not normal. It is not responding to velocity correctly. It would not be like that on a properly functioning PX-S1100. Since it's brand new, I would proceed with the exchange.
  5. Auto power off was a concern with V1.14. Jokeyman can probably confirm auto power off is functional in V1.16.
  6. The PX-560 does not have a sleep mode. Where did you hear that? Please update your firmware. As Jokeyman mentioned, V1.16 was released specifically to correct the issue you are having.
  7. Casio prefers to offer onboard audio recording rather than audio over USB. At this time, you'll find some higher end Casio 88 key digital pianos which can record audio to USB flash drive. Unfortunately this is not available in any 61 key portable keyboards currently. A quality audio interface is really the best way to capture audio. It is the most common way. Also note that many desktop and laptop computers will have a stereo line input mini jack for audio input present. This can be used for audio capture with a standard stereo mini plug cable. This may be the easiest way to get started. Hope this helps.
  8. Are you able to power on? If so, the power button must be physically okay. It is the only way to turn on the keyboard. What happens immediately after powering on? Can it be played normally? Can you select different tones with the dial? Do the number buttons respond?
  9. Oh my. Confirm "at power-on" is enabled on the "my setup" screen and shows the specified numbered setup you want to use.
  10. Unfortunately that is the only way. You can delete the entire song, or individual tracks within a song. If a previously recorded track is specified for recording a new recording, it will be overwritten automatically.
  11. With the CT-X700, all settings initialize after powering off. This can't be changed. You'll need to recall registration memory to recall preferred settings.
  12. For a MIDI recording made entirely on the PX-560, these are the options: 1. Record a new system track again. Tempo is stored in the system track as a MIDI event. Unfortunately the 560 does not feature event level editing, so the only onboard option is to record the track again. You would need to export the song as SMF format and edit the event on a computer. In the export process, the system track is converted to solo tracks as long as the MIDI recording has empty solo tracks.
  13. The arpeggiator is used for rhythm strumming. You simply hold down a chord of notes that sound best. The arpeggiator does the rest.
  14. Unfortunately that's correct. Fortunately, the issue is usually isolated to the stereo piano tones only. It may be possible to continue using the keyboard with those other tones normally. It's also possible to use the keyboard as a USB MIDI controller with software sound sources like Pianoteq.
  15. Do you mean the "stage piano" preset in the 3100? The 3100's "grand piano concert" preset is already almost identical to the PX-5S concert grand preset.
  16. Probably the best advice I can give for getting started is use the arpeggiator. Why? Arpegggio numbers 147 and 148 are "guitar strike" patterns. They'll help you sound like a guitar strumming rhythm.
  17. I haven't forgotten this. Are you using sustain pedal? Is accompaniment turned on with a chord playing in the left hand? Or is it just the drum pattern without accompaniment?
  18. The adapter supports audio for using the keyboard as a Bluetooth speaker. The adapter is a Bluetooth audio receiver. It does not transmit audio. Bluetooth MIDI is a two way communication, transmit and receive.
  19. Sometimes the wording manuals use gets lost in translation unfortunately. That excerpt means to say do not unplug the keyboard before pressing the power button. The act of pressing the power button initiates the auto resume save process. This save process doesn't occur if the power is removed by unplugging the keyboard before pressing the power button. Once the power down process completes, it's safe to unplug. Having said that, auto resume does not save everything, but touch response is saved.
  20. A little correction here. All modern Casio keyboards use flash type memory, so continuous power supply is not necessary to save auto resume stored settings. The unit can be unplugged once it has been shut down normally.
  21. Please write a detailed list of steps needed to recreate this condition. Number the steps. Start with the example below. It should be written like a user manual. 1. Press the power button to turn on the keyboard. 2. what is the next button press? and what does the display read? 3. and the next?
  22. Your post is not clear. What are the specific conditions in which this occurs? Are you saying this only happens when recording a song with the MIDI recorder?
  23. These olders posts will be like that. Users remove the videos or make them private.
