  1. File Name: Blurred Lines - Robin Thicke File Submitter: Brad MZ PX File Submitted: 25 Aug 2013 File Category: PX-5S Stage Settings I recorded an Audio sample of this stage setting. It's on the download page. Click the download button above. ^ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ You'll instantly recognize this if you've heard the song before. It's annoyingly popular at the moment. I did it as a test of the drum set editing abilities. Could I match the sound of the original song? You judge. All drum sounds used in this beat are edited in some way to approximate the sound of the original beat. If you use this stage setting, please let me know if you like it and how you used it. I learn music by ear. This stage setting started as I was learning how to play the song. I carefully listened to left and right channels of the original recording, trying to hear how it was played. Once I learned it well enough to play it myself, I recorded it into the sequencer on the MZ-2000, then converted that recording into phrases for the PX-5S. The rest of the work involved editing PX-5S tones until they sounded like the sounds heard in the original record. I have recorded an Audio Demo of this. Click the download button to see it in the list of available downloads. or click here for soundcloud...https://soundcloud.com/bradmz/eurythmics-sweet-dreams-ver-2 ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ This is a stage setting and sounds for playing the song Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics. Sweet Dreams is the Stage Setting. Sweet Arp is the phrase that plays the synth sounds. Place this phrase in slot 120 Sweet Beat is the phrase for the drum pattern. Place this phrase in slot 121. Once loaded, make sure the Arpeggiator lamp is lit, then hit any key in the low end to start the pattern playing. The Synth Lead sound is in the upper range for playing the solo.

  6. Well then... We all learned a valuable lesson here today. At least I did.
  7. Hex Layer tones can be transferred to the PX-5S using the data editor transfer function. The Media Load function for the USB Drive cannot load Hex Layer Tones.
  8. Hi artmad, The process you are attempting to use is interesting and complicated. I think it may be possible if you can manage to fit your piece into a phrase recording. The phrase can only be 16 measures of course. Once you have the phrase recorded you need to assign your phrase to a song using the song sequencer. Press the button to light up the song light and then press edit and then enter track edit. Use the YES and NO button to assign your phrase to the underlined Phrase #. Press the write button to save the song. Next, save the Song to USB. Press and hold the media button and scroll own to save and then to song seq and then select SMF save. After you edit your .mid file: The PX-5S can play a .mid file only from the USB drive and it can record audio only to the USB drive. Since it can't record audio and play back .mid files at the same time you will have to convert your .mid to a phrase and load it back into the PX5 for playback while you audio record it to the USB. If you need any more help we are here.

  17. It's best if you find a stage setting that is close to what you need and then modify it for your specific needs. Keep in mind that the PX5 is always in Stage Setting mode. If you change a basic tone, you're really just editing a stage setting.
  18. I'll attempt to answer some of these by the numbers. 1. I'm not sure if I understand the question. If it's a synth sound you want then the PX5 can handle that with no problem. There is already a stage setting here on the forums available for download that is made for the song "Just What I Needed" by The Cars. 2. The PX5 is always in stage setting mode. It can do almost anything you wish as far as splitting and layering is concerned. The effects are totally customizable in any instance. 3. If I understand your question, the PX5 cannot sample sounds. 4. Guitar sounds are awesome.
