  1. Based on past casio experience, none of suggestions were ever considered, so....
  2. Well, that's quite interesting. Some styles sound pretty awesome on MZ-X500. Especially Reggaeton 3 - That is style for Despacito, and it sounds far better than my own conversion!
Quite good! I did some tweaks - reduced reverb amount, decreased the release time and adjusted volume, so it matches level of built-in tones and this is quite usable, thanks!

This is that nicely sounding, classic 80s variable duty cycle PWM square wave. Sampled from real hardware.
  4. Two more styles. Chris de burg - Lady in Red. Gigi D'agnostino - The Riddle Voices are optimized for MZ-X series, so might need revoicing. LADYRED_.AC7 THE_RIDD.AC7
  5. Strange What specific song style you were searching for and can't find? or you only accept FREE content?
  6. A quick creation - style for Bass Hunter - "All I ever wanted (to play a little DOTA)". Also good for O-Zone - "Dragostea din tei" (These songs both use same chord progression btw). Please note, sounds are optimized for MZ-X500, so most likely, on other Casio keyboards, you'll need to re-voice the style. Preview is included. dota.mp3 DOTAHUNT.AC7

This was used in a lot of ZX Spectrum games, such as H.A.T.E., Flying Shark, and many others. This is basic sample, reconstructed from the original sound. Single sampled, so only about 2 octaves usable, but still good. More will follow.
  8. I did some further experiments in this field. While offset 066H has definitely impact on sound type, it is not in direct relation with actual sample I guess. I took some preset sound (pwm saw or something like that), and according to tone tyrrant, it uses sound #141 - but when I go to hex layer edit mode, sound #141 is pipe organ - definitely not the one I need. Also, editing these bytes produces very strange and interesting sounds - like a sound sweeping from deep sub bass to ultrasonic, but with flat envelope and filter
  9. I do not have issue. I'm asking how to share hexlayer tone with others, which already contains user sample.
  10. Unfortunately, you have no idea about what I'm talking at all. I've personally counted at least 12 bugs which are NOT related to samples at all. These apply to style editing, sound editing (on board sounds, not samples) User interface, file handling and other settings.
  11. I thought that CT-X series had a lot of bugs, due to relatively cheap price. But when upgraded to MZ-X, bugs are far worse!
  12. Hello. It is possible to create a HexLayer sound with user uploaded samples/sounds. However, when I share this HexLayer with other users, the tone file does not contain the sampled sound, only reference to it's number. So how should user load such sound into his keyboard?

I tried to re-create this iconic sound. It is quite hard and this is the 1st attempt, but quite usable. Stereo sampled.
  14. No there will be no such keyboard. All forces are into singing chipmunks
  15. Yes, CT-X has far better DSP than MZ-X. If I were Casio, I would make something like CT-X3100, in which all these "world" sounds and styles should be removed, and extra memory used for better quality samples of common instruments, say pianos and strings. MZ-X has very nice pianos and strings, compared to CT-X.
  16. Oh and by the way, I tried Tone Tyrant on MZ-X and it works fine - Now I can select a sample waveform with it for normal sounds too, not only for hex layer sounds, as MZ-X built-in tone editor allows! Thank you, author, once again!
  17. Well, MZ-X series have graphical editor of all these settings built-in into keyboard, but it also do not provide any real time related information. So this is not an issue of Tone Tyrant, but an issue of casio synth engine itself. P.S. Having GUI for Tone Tyrant would be great, I believe.
  18. I upgraded from CT-X5000 to MZ-X500 and while in terms of sound quality, usability, expandability, it is not correct to compare these two, in terms of DSP, MZ-X series are absolute junk. In CT-X series you can have 3 voices with 4 DSP effects per each, on MZ-X you have 2 voices with 1 DSP effect per each and their quality is far worse than DSP on CT-X series. But MZ-X can have custom sounds loaded, so I have now every sound I needed - Famous OB-X Synth Brass (Van Halen, Axel F), Roland D50 fantasia (We are the world), and I even made some ZX Spectrum sound samples Here's a Super Mario Bros theme played using sounds based on H.A.T.E. soundtrack from the ZX Spectrum. smbzx.mp3
  19. LOL, even far more expensive MZ-X series have no software. Even more, their firmware is full of bugs, but no updates....
  20. Musicians and producers, who might need advanced editing of anything, do not use Casio. Check photos and videos of any pro grade studio, see any Casio made equipment there?
  21. There are converters that adopt existing styles to CT-X series sounds, including conversion of megavoices to versatile voices. But as said, these are command line, "hacker-style" tools, definitely not suited for single finger kind of operation.
  22. No there are none. All available converters require certain knowledge, there are no visual and "drag and drop" styled converters. However, if you need some styles to be converted, we have a special thread here for that. Post your yamaha style and it will get converted.

I tried to create sound as close to original as I could. It is not perfect, but still good. Stereo sampled.
