  1. I have upgraded to MZ-X500, and while it has built-in editor like "Tone Tyrant", you can't select initial sample on which your new sound will be based. So maybe is it possible to extend this "tyrant" software to support .ZTN files from MZ-X as well? I'm ready to contribute and not afraid loading any files

Officially - no. But if you take any "user" file, with hex editor you can change the base preset sound it refers to. But this requires some programming skills and not easily doable by any "generic" user.
  3. ok today later I will convert them to midi
  4. Here is the updated package - some styles were having short intro instead of long. These start with X9 in filenames (They are ported from Ketron). Now I fixed it. Ones who already donated - password to this archive is the same as before. charity.rar

This was quite easy, wonder why Casio didn't do it by themselves, since they already included samples, closely matching this sound. For those who do not know, this is iconic synth brass sound used in tons of 80s-90s songs. Some of these include: Van Halen - Jump, Huey Lewis - Power of Love, Heather Parisi - Cicale, SNAP - Rhythm is a dancer and a lot, lot more songs.
  6. I analyzed both files with binary compare tool, and found that "bad" one has 4 extra zeros inserted into header, in area, which defines bits per sample setting. Thanks for a converter!
  7. So you have AC7 Files? upload them somewhere and I will convert them to midi...

This is the famous "Fantasia" preset from Roland D50. Used in a large number of songs, including "We are the world" and many others. Multi-sampled from Real D50.
  9. Here is update to above rhythm package - the sounds I've created for CT-X3000/5000. These sounds are as closely matched to original sounds listed, as possible. DontGo - 80s synth saw brass, Roland Jupiter and others. One of the most prominent uses is Yazoo - "Don't go", hence the sound name. PhatSaw - 90s smooth, phat saw lead, with multiple uses. Directly it can be used for playing intro for Snap - "Rhythm is a dancer". When layered as 2nd voice with "TowerSaw" from that same package, it can be used for the following songs: Van Halen - "Jump", Huey Lewis - "Power of love", Heather Parisi - "Cicale" and many, many others. PoppyPop - resonant/delayed saw chords, best used for chords in Axel F Theme. Reasure - There are two variations of this tone, one with delay and one - without. Set it to layers, where non-delay version is at left hand, and version with delays is at right hand - now you can play PPK -"Resurrection" almost identical to original sound. FinalCnt - Synth brass lead, best suited for Europe - "Final Countdown" Amadeus - Synth lead for the Falco - "Rock me Amadeus" song. AnDromed - Modern saw lead, best suited for "Coffin dance", Alice Deejay - "Better off alone" and other 90s euro dance acts. AllSheSa - Special sound for intro chords for Tatu - "All the things she said" OrgVibe - 60's mellotron organ vibes sound. Can be used for all these retro songs. Vertigo - Modern EDM synth lead for various song use. JA-Sounds.rar
  10. Have you listened to one of the early takes of "Let it be"? it was released on anthology 3 or something like that - also very funkyish style, as you did it with "Madonna", so maybe it also worth covering?
  11. Export them as midi files and import in converters that way.
  12. Actually, very impressive! Really nice arrangement... But why not play piano one octave higher?
  13. Guys at casio will never stop amazing me. I have some samples in wav format, proper length, bitrate and frequency. But when I load it into that sample editor, I get message "File format error". File is not damaged, it is perfectly fine - plays and opens in any editor without any issues. Truly by accident, I found a way to fix it. You need Sound Forge 7.0 Just open that file in it, and just hit ctrl+s! no editing, changing anything. File after that will be usable in casio sample manager. I don't know, what kind of magic happens there, but it works. I'm attaching both "source" and "fixed" files, maybe anyone can spot the difference? The only one I discovered is that "fixed" version is 4 bytes shorter, than the original file. I'm asking this because I have about 2000+ wav files, from which I want to assemble sample sets for MZ-X, and sample editor gives that error on all of them. I can load them into Sound Forge 7.0 and hit save, but this is very old editor, it does not have batch processing capabilities, so I have to do all that manually, which is very troublesome. jupi(fixed).wav jupi.wav
  14. Yes, there are several, both videos and textual. By the way, I post a lot of converted styles in this topic. If you need something specific, upload the .sty file and I will provide .ac7
  15. I talked with local (Republic of Georgia) Casio official dealer and here's what they said. Casio locally is recognized as either toy piano, or full size electronic piano maker. The positioning of MZ-X series is not good, since at the moment of their introduction, they had price same as competitor Yamaha and Roland/Korg models. As a registered dealer, we do have some requirements for sales, so we took 5 pcs. MZ-X500 and 5 pcs. MZ-X300 from Casio - this was the smallest number we can buy. By the December 2022, since 2018, we have sold 4 pcs. MZ-X300 and 4 pcs. MZ-X500. At the same time, we have sold much more Privia and CTK models. We can't disclose numbers, but we're getting a 40ft. container from Casio once per year, and there are a lot of Casio keyboards inside. As we believe, the problem with MZ-X is that people do not consider casio to be worth investing in the target area - which is already taken by appropriate models from yamaha-korg-casio. Literarily saying, it is too late for casio to jump into that segment of arranger keyboards. So they understand this quite well, and this is the reason why they cancelled planned MZ-X700 and there are no updates for current models too.
  16. From my personal experience, available tools (excel converter and others), deliver better result, than built-in function of style import. But this is just my opinion.

This is multi-sampled lead synth, inspired by Avenger's EDM pack sounds. Works better with Trance lead (#970 patch in MZ-X500) set as 2nd layer voice (set volume to 60)

With all it's quantization noise and graininess.

Actually, this was sounding better on CT-X series, due to it's more advanced DSP, but not bad here too. I called it "Zodiacs" because, PPK sampled that part from old soviet "Space disco" band, called "The Zodiacs".

Of course, this is not exact copy, but still quite usable, good for Italo disco background padding.
  21. Yes, solved that by using a special, command line utility, coded by another member of this forum (Utility is private, not for public), but thanks anyway!
  22. Version 1.0.0

A nice FM vibraphone, added some auto pan and reverb, multi-sampled, uses 6 samples.
  23. I had this keyboard and used some cheap USB MIDI adapters from China and all worked fine.
  24. Well, here MZ-X500 sell very poorly, no one even turned this unit ON for a long time, so they were selling it cheap, just to free up the space I was actually aiming for Korg Kross 2, they also had store display unit on sale, but someone bought it, so I had to go with MZ-X500
