  1. Ultra.Klick, I'm sorry you don't understand the placement of the products in the market. The XW's and the PX-5S are both very unique compared to other products on the market. You state that you think we've "wasted a good chance" but both the XW's and the PX-5S have been quite successful. I think they're successful because they're not like other products. Clearly it does not take 3.8GB in piano sounds as most people agree the piano in the PX-5S is superior. I'm not sure, but it does not appear that you've watched the Ustream clinics that I've done on the XW series and the PX-5S. I agree manuals should be better, but that is also why we've done the blog sites that are filled with tutorials: http://xwsynth.wordpress.com http://priviapro.wordpress.com In addition to the blog and forum, there is also a users group on Facebook. I'd be surprised if you could find this level of support from most manufacturers.
  2. Assuming #2 has no panning, there would be no difference between #1 and #2.
  3. Ultra.Klick, Sorry but I'm having a difficult time following what you're saying and asking, but let me clarify a few things. The PX-5S is first and foremost a Performance product. It's architecture and controllers are designed to give you several options in this regard; from amazing synth textures to remarkable acoustic and electric piano sounds. With the polyphony of the PX-5S it is easy to provide both at the same time. In regards to using the PX-5S with an external sequencer, yes of course you can. The rules of the PX-5S architecture remain in place in that MIDI channels 1 and 2 can access the Hex-Layer sounds, leaving 14 other MIDI channels available for pianos, electric pianos, clavs, drums, basses and more. ALL 16 MIDI channels have access to the SYSTEM effects that the PX-5S offers which include Reverb, Chorus and Delay. MIDI Channels 1-4 do have additional DSP (Insert) effects available. While the "Melody" tones do not have access to the full editing capabilities that a Hex-Layer tones does, your ability so shape these sounds using the filtes and envelopes is still quite significant. What may not be clear immediately is that drum sounds are available on multiple MIDI channels (5-16). In regards to the XW-series, you comment about fraud is utterly rediculous. The XW series does NOT have the same engine of the PX-5S, but the XW serires does have some unique capabilities of their own. Not to mention the Step Sequencer and Phrase sequencers, the sound engine itself is quite remarkable. Are there limitations? Yes. Does it still sound fantastic? Yes. As an example this: That demo uses 1 "Solo Synth" and 3 regular "Melody" tones that are zoned across the keyboard.
  4. Arpeggios can only be created on the PX-5S itself.

Someone asked for this special effect. Press Middle C, followed by the B below middle C.

A few Holiday inspired Hex Layer sounds that can be used in any Stage Setting (on Zone 1 or 2). The Xmas Cheer1 and 2 are the same sound except on version 1 the bells can only be heard when you play harder. The Mannheim Keys: Synthy / Harpsichord combination with Timpani when you play harder in the lower octaves.
  7. It is a great combination. We'll be working one some downloadable drum sounds here for the forum in early 2014. I posted a PX-5S video yesterday and one of the comments was "Add a Linndrum and a Minimoog and it's instant Jan Hammer". My reply - That is what the XW-G1 is for. You can find samples of just about any vintage drum machine online for free. With a little patience you can load those into the XW-G1 and start making patterns. Tons of fun.
  8. The LEFT output is a summed output. So if you're using the stereo concert grand tone, the left and right side will be put together. Casio already provides a MONO grand piano tone. That being said Casio pianos are VERY mono compatible and you will not get the phrase problems that other digital pianos have when put in mono. Mono will always sound different and mono compatibility doesn't really get better than what you already have.
  9. What do you mean by "true mono compatiblity button"?
  10. Big fonts! First I'll ask - How much are you willing to pay?
  11. Thanks "TheDogFather"! I had actually completely forgotten about this piece. The lead used here is the XW using just a slight variant of the "Vangelis" lead that I used for in the Blade Runner demo. Thanks taking the leap and ordering the XW-P1. You're going to have a lot of fun with it I'm sure.
  12. The "R: Pop" is the name of the Rhythm (drums / accompaniment) that you have selected.

A Stage Setting for Ozzy Osbourne's Mr. Crowley. This Stage Setting requires use of Pedal2. Pressing Pedal 2, turns ON the layer which has the pitch slide. Releasing Pedal 2, turns on the choral layer.
  16. Sorry for the trouble, obviously this is extremely out of the ordinary. Where did you purchase the PX-5S from? This is certainly covered under warranty.
  17. Splits are covered around 11:00
  18. No, the USB Cable is for MIDI communication only. To hear the PX-5S through your computer speakers, they would have to be connected to the line output of the PX-5S itself. .
  19. The knockoffs are bad. We bought several here. I was initially surprised that they worked. In the end they work about 20% of the time. Not worth the time and frustration.
