  1. Hi Shawk, Yeah I had some questions about this too. It seems that there are some good reasons for this choice. But you can use a dummy plug (plastic plug) in the earphone jack to mute the speakers. I found this comment very usefull: The line out is working but that was never the problem. The problem is why did Casio design it so that the internal speakers still sound while the line out jacks are connected to an external audio system. PA system for example. The fact you have to plug in headphone or a dummy plug to the headphone jack for external use seems wrong. Oh well, such is life. The whole thead here : Or this is even better :
  2. IMHO it is indeed a bit strange the line output is controlled by the volume button. I have no experience in live music, but if I compare to other electronic devices, the line out is always a constant signal.
  3. Ether667 and all others noticing this problem. You are not crazy 😂 I also stumbled upon this problem where a irritating high tone is heard when striking the 2nd F, G or A on the px-s3000. I tried on another PX-S3000 with same results. I also compared to yamaha and roland and an accoustic piano. They have the same "twang" or metallic tone but not even half as loud as the casio. I know at lease one person selling the px-s because of this. I wish there was a way to reduce it a litte. The best I came up was : - Reduce brilliance & reduce touch response or choose the GM piano I started a thread (because I missed this one) ., and it surprised me almost no one responded to it. Or is it maybe that our ears are more sensible to high tones ? https://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/topic/20662-strange-ringing-sound-when-playing-low-f-or-f/#comment-73365
  4. I have also a video file. Maybe this works on safari and macOs ... The video is in this post Today I did the same test on a real accoustic schimmel piano. The metallic sound is also present there. But it is not so loud and clearly present .. pxs3000.mp4
  5. Today I did some extra work finding info about this metallic sound. I found on facebook a px-s1000 owner with the same problem. To find out if it is indeed a general problem I went to a local music shop to test a px-s3000, a yamaha 515 and a roland fx60, using a headphone. All digital piano's had some ringing sound on the lower keys. Casio the most, roland the second and yamaha the least. So I guess this sound is (like Brad wrote) a normal sound that pianos make caused by resonance. In general, I found the sound the casio produces more clear than the others (better high tones). Maybe this is the reason the metallic sound is more audible on the px-s3000 comparing to the others. I can conclude that there is nothing wrong with my own casio. But since I am not the only one finding it a bit annoying I can also say that casio added too much of this "natural" sound. In fact, on the FAQ on the casio website they mention this metallic sound. So I guess there are more owners having questions about this phenomenon. I wish there was a way to reduce it a little. And I am also very surprised no one mentioned it in one of the many reviews that can be found on the internet. When playing on the speakers it sometimes sounds like there is audio-feedback. For who is interested I added an extra sample I made on the px-s3000 in the shop bax-03.WAV bax-04.WAV
  6. Thanks, I was afraid there was something wrong. But I guess it is the manufacturers trying to make it as real as possible also copying the imperfections. I dont like the sound of it. Wish I could switch it off. I dont know what the Quasi mode D is, but is this a way to make it a little less ? I added a new example, this time with "G". It seems to get worse a bit. Is this really "works as designed"? TAKE02.WAV
  7. Hi, I have PX-S3000 and I noticed that when I play the 2nd F from the left, (that is the the 13th white key from the left) I hear a ringing high sound when holding the key for some seconds. Same issue with the black F# key next to it. All the other 86 keys dont have this problem as far as i can hear although I heard it one time on the E as well. It happens more or less on all piano tones (grand piano, mellow piano, bright piano etc) , exept the GMpiano that is behind a different menu (342). First I thought it was audio feedback or the ever present ringing in my own ears, but when I release the key it is immediately gone. Especially when I play the key hard the sound becomes audible after a short time. I did a factory reset, but no change. I hear this ringing or feedback sound both on the internal speakers and on a headphone. I also caputured it in a .wav file can anyone reproduce this, or is it just my own PX-S3000 ? Or is this normal behaviour in a piano because of resonance ? link to sympathetic resonance Thanks TAKE01.WAV
  8. Just a beginner. I got my px-s3000 last may 2021 and just started practising.

  9. Unfortunately the specs are not clear about this. No optimal impedance is mentioned. It just says : " PHONES jacks: Stereo mini jacks (3.5mm) x 2 " link : PX-S3000 Specifications | Privia | Electronic Musical Instruments | CASIO (casio-intl.com) And maybe this : Did you check the "touch response" (keyboard settings) ? If it is heavy1 or heavy2, the sound will be less because the keys are less sensible Did you check the "keyboard volume". When I practise with "heavy2" I set this to the full 127 to get a good sound.
  10. Could it be static electricity ? A plastic surface is usually easy to get charged with static energy. Does your electric outlet have protected earth / grounding ? Static charge sometimes causes touch sensitive knobs to go on their own. It might be the case. It happens often. But I dont know how to solve this in this specific case. Since I dont know the electric diagram of the keyboard I would be very cautious before connecting any part to protected earth or grounding. Try playing on a different underground (wood / stone / concrete). Maybe it helps .. ????
  11. Okay thanks. it is a bit strange that the registrations dont save the song options, so the auto resume is the only option left. And I say strange because the px-s3000 has so countless many options and the one I need is not one of them 😅 It is only a minor inconvenience, i will teach my son how to set the songs to audio and adjust the volume. I dont like auto resume because if someone f*** up the settings it will remain until I factory reset.
  12. Hi, I want to change a few settings permanent. Song volume : default is 100 I want it permanent to 50 Song type is midi : i want it permanent to audio For the rest I want to start the px-s3000 to start up default (no auto resume please!) If I use the bank, it forgets these song settings every time I power up the piano again. Is there a way to permanent store song volume and type and leave everything else to default? This is the story why : I have a piano course with CD. I ripped the CD, put the wave files on a USB stick, and put it in the USB slot. If I set the px-s3000 to song-type audio, I can play these songs from the song "buttons" (left from the display"). The only problem is that I have to switch every time the song type to audio. And the volume is too high so I have to bring it from 100 to 50 every time again. For me that is okay, but for my son it is quite a challenge. It would be so much better if the piano immediately starts up with these settings. What can I do ?
  13. Unfortunately I dont have a daughter with these skills. And I was very unhappy with the "no brand covers" you can buy at the local music store. Because they are all too large for the px-s3000 and the music stand does not fit. But I have found a website where they sell affordable custom made covers for many keyboards. I ordered my cover here : CASIO Privia PX S3000 Keyboard cover Viktory | PROTECTION (viktoryshop.com) and i must say i am very very very happy with the cover. Fits like a glove, looks really nice and good quality. And what i like most is the "music stand cut out" . I have no (commercial) relations with this webshop. I just want to help anyone looking for a good cover to find one.
  14. I received an email where the manufacturer told me that this tablet does not have the required hardware for midi. I wonder if could find a way to tweak it to android 7, it will work. Probably not. Thanks for your info !
