  1. the cable is correct..only diff is instead of 30v vw-1..it is 60v vw1 (this is just the external votage resistance,so won't effect the current itself)...the old official cable i have(which has a couple of pins bent) registers diddly squat now too (whereas before ,90% of keyboard registered).... I've definately damaged somehow the damned 30 pin port...just don't see how...even if maybe once i didn't turn off the power at the wall when reinserting/taking out...its so low voltage surely impossible to "short" any of the connections, let alone physically damage them.. (there are other connectors on the bottom of the keyboard bed, which have been totally untouched,so can't be any damage to these)..
  2. thanks for reply... i can only guess ive damaged the 30 pin connector...as they're all in correctly...i've absolutely no idea how....is it possible to "short" the 30 pin connector somehow??
  3. Thanks for reply y,i had thought that...i've tried the ribbon cable with all 4 possible connetions...only one way actually fits "naturally",so i guess this has to be the correct way...all variables of insertion result in the same though..ie,no sound.... i DID manage to get it playing for a few seconds this afternoon...i was putting pressure on the ribbon cable going into the keyboard bed ,trying nto push it in more..or,i'm not sure what...just try and get some kind of connection....i haven't managed since. Only thing i can think of,is that i have somehow damaged the 30 pin plastic connection "thingy" just beneath the piano bed/keyboard....how the hell i have done this,i have no idea....it is v low voltage, and the ribbon cables themselves are so lightweight and, well "floppy" i can't for the life of me imagine how even incorrect removal/reinsertion into the 30 pin connector could have resulted in such damage...i think only 15 volts or so porbably pass bewteen the cable and the PCB (maybe less,i'm not sure)...there is no room in my limited knowledge for shorting/eletrically damaging the integrity of the 30 pin connection (let alone physically damaging it with something as flimsey as ribbon cable)....
  4. Thanks, got them from china today (theyre rated at 60v C) but perfect fit. only issue...no sounds whatsoever now when i press a key (i tried old semi damaged cabale and same issue)....no idea what the heck has happened....v much doubt i have damaged the pcb 30 pin slot,v simple to put ribbon cable in/take out... Any ideas much appreciated....
  5. Hi, had to(it's outside of warranty) open (at some considerable stress!!) my px 870 after a couple of the keys were not correctly registering touch,to replace the rubber strips. Cut a lot story short...slightly damaged the ribbon cable (from the keyboard to the PCB)..( it still worked, but a a few keys were intermittant),so ordered a new lot of 30 pin FFC cables (same spec) from China. So,after arriving,Reconnected to PCB and behind the piano keyboard bed,and...no sound when pressing any of the piano keys. Thought strange...the demo could still be played and heard...i have reset the piano too (function/midi rec/electric piano keys) and still no joy. I tried the old cable too....and absolutely nothing....i'm at an utter loss...i was careful to remove it and reinsert with power turned off...there is no damage whatsoever to the 30 p[in connectors on either the PCB or behind the Kyboard bed. I'm guessing the 30 pin connectors are pretty "undamageable" anyway,as v low voltage, and they are connected/soldered rock solidly to the pcb/piano bed. Totally gutted,as this is an 800 quid piano, and it seems crazy that i might have to bin it because of something so small (and indecipherable).. ANY suggestions at all would be highly welcome...
  6. Hi, i have excatly same problem as dbecker22....did you ever find the replacmement cable (i'm going nuts trying to find correct one!)....??
