  1. I chose the 6000 because I didn't need the stand (I have it on my desk), and I couldn't get the 7000 without the stand. Also, given that I have Pianoteq, I was more interested in the form factor and keybed, even though I use the inbuilt tones most of the time anyway. Most other digital pianos are massive and tall, which would make the keybed too high, as well as looking like a tank. I looked a long time for a good 88 key, at first I got a Studiologic numa x piano gt, but sent it back, and got the 6000 instead.
  2. Also try using headphones, to see if it is the tone itself, or the speakers. But yes, it would have less grunt.
  3. Depends what you mean by peddle block. Is the Triple pedal unit: SP-34 not good enough? https://www.casio.com/us/electronic-musical-instruments/options/product.SP-34/
  4. Mine's on 1.01, was wondering if a newer one had slipped out Thanks
  5. https://www.gear4music.com/Keyboards-and-Pianos/Casio-CS90-Stand-for-PX-S6000-Black/53XS Just found out that you can get a posh stand for the s6000, a bit like the one for the s7000. I don't need one (its on my desk), but some people might
  6. Also, the keybed is much better. You could also look at the px-s6000. Merriam Pianos/Stew on youtube does lots of good reviews of the new privias I have an px-s6000, its really nice. (I didn't need a stand, as it lives on my computer desk. Its not very high, especially compared to some monstrous keyboards out there) It also has 4 speakers and sounds awesome
  7. You know the saying, wherever you go, there you are. I'd say it is your perceptions of the sound. See if PianoTeq is more to your liking, they have a demo mode. See if you hear the same artefacts. Remember, with PTQ, it isn't sampled, it is modelled.
  8. Well, I have a px-s6000, which is almost the same, and the same headphones, and hear no problems. Maybe it is your perception of it. Odd that you don't hear it on the speakers. If you are saying that ALL s7000s do this on headphones, you'd have thought that more than one person would be reporting this. What happens when you try other piano tones?
  9. Well, looks like it should be returned. At the very least, reach out to whoever you got it from, see if they know of this issue and what they can do to remediate. If it was a common issue many more people who be talking about it, sounds like you just got unlucky. But it does point to maybe something missing from the QA process that let it sneak out These things happen. Before the s6000, I had a StudioLogic Numa X Piano GT, like a tank, but had to return it, and it was a real pain to return. I'm glad I did though, the px-s6000 was the right choice for me. If you have a dual TS to TRS cable you could try that on the line out at the back, for diagnostics at least e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B079JQQSCC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  10. I've got some HD599s, bought a month ago, they sound lovely on my px-s6000, and that's via the 6.3mm connection, so it doesn't seem normal at all. Make sure the headphone end of the cable is properly screwed in. Maybe do a factory reset, to make sure the s/w isn't confused?

  12. Yes, that's why I didn't get the s7000, as I very much don't need a stand. My s6000 is on my desk, just wanted to stop it getting dusty in style, feels like a dust magnet! They might like to sell it separately
  13. > available as optional accessory for the PX-S6000 Where? I was asking about this before. Thanks
  14. Well, its possible with a firmware update, was just wondering if I was missing something in the voluminous settings In a similar vein, it might be nice if the K1 and K2 nobs on the s6000 showed the current value, not just what it was changing, makes it easier to get to a known setting Is there an official Casio feedback mechanism?
  15. I have the 3 pedal unit and sometimes I miss and press the middle peddle. Would be nice to know if I'm pressing the sustain pedal from the display Of course I could look at Pianoteq on my PC, but that rather defeats the purpose, ha Not a big issue, but if there isn't an option for that, it would be nice for the next firmware update for it to show this on the display.
  16. I think they come with the 7000, looks pretty nice, looking to get one for my 6000. Also described as a "Key cover" Any idea? Thanks
  17. Yes, I have no split, no layering, hence one current tone. If I had split or layering, I'd expect it to play as if I was pressing keys on the keyboard. In fact if I have layering or split on, with "the hack", it does just this. Here it is in action, fyi.
  18. Funnily enough I managed to get it to do what I want. Using the above midi, I then used this https://signal.vercel.app/edit connected to the privia as output, then played, and this somehow confused it so much that I was able to freely swap instruments, and it carry on playing. Pity I have to trick it, would be nice if in the next firmware update they put the ability to simply ignore instrument changes, or at least, if midi comes in with no instruments specified, instead of choosing it based on the channel (as it does now), just carry on with the current one. It doesn't really matter, as I have this silly hack, and in truth, I use Pianoteq most of the time, I was simply surprised/curious when it acted as it did The Privia is really lovely. I am VERY impressed.
  19. What I'm looking for it to do is to ignore any incoming patch changes and just play, as is, on the currently selected instrument I'd rather not have to hack out patch changes from every midi file I want to play. If it can't do that, then it would be very nice to have that in the settings "ignore incoming patch changes" The same happens when I load a midi file into the user songs from a USB key (I was hoping it would play the midi as if I were playing, with the current instrument) Oh well. If anyone knows a simple application that will remove all patch changes from a midi file, and just leave the notes/pedals, do tell Dino.
