  1. Hi, somebody can help me to find a Mellow A.Piano Stage setting. I need it to play a song called "Calling You" of Jevetta Steele. Thanks for any help! Bye Massimo
  2. Many thanks Brad! as soon as I will have my PX-5S under my hands I will try it.
  3. Maybe this is a beginner question: Is it possible to save in a Stage Setting a transpose setup?
  4. I'm starting to use my PX-5 as a master keyboard but I'm not able to send the sustain pedal command to MIDI Out, I mean my external module is recognizing the note and key velocity but is not receiving sustain pedal on-off message. Any hint? Thanks Massimo
  5. I guess that expression pedal is a MUST for organ sounds! It's part of the player technique the usage of the expression pedal to obtain certain effects that are tipical of the tonewheels (Hammond) organ. I don't consider the PX-5S a viable option for "heavy" organ usage. Considering that the PX-5S is mainly a stage piano the expression pedal need was not considered by the engineers who designed the product. I believe that expression pedal is useful even for pads sounds (like strings) to obtain a better effect. From my last experience watching Steve Weingart at the Protocol II concert (my seat was less the 2 mt. on his back), I saw him using key velocity (touch) to obtain the same effect. It's more difficult but, I can tell you, the result was great!
  6. There is an interesting video made by Max Tempia (italian Casio guru) about this topic. Unfortunatelly is in italian... Anyway the main subject is how the triple sensor of the weighted hammer action keybed of the PX-5s is performing in combination of a "top of the line" piano VST. The bottom line is (even considering we are speaking about a less then 900 euros product) the PX-5S is a great keyboard controller for all that application where weighted keybed is a must.
  7. Great link! Who can tell me what stage setting was used in this video? Thanks, Max
  8. Hi all, I made a new stage setting starting from one of the String SS that Mike Martin pubblished last August. Basically 2 zone are dedicated to orchestral tone (zone 1 and zone 2) and 1 is for Concert piano. Now I would like to use pedal 2 to switch between orchestra and piano. (what I was able to achive is only to switch on/off the two orchestral zones together but still I have the piano in both situation). Any suggestion? thanks, bye Massimo
  9. Hi Dave, Can you publish more demo of this piano sets? Thanks!
  10. Scott, any suggestion to keep the PX-5S clean?
  11. what about the possibility to change/use the tipical Hammond's percussion?
  12. Hi all, any update about the release of the new MIDI designer for PX-5S? I hope it will be compatible with iOS 5.1 so we will use even the iPad 1st generation....
  13. Hi Normski, some point: 1) volume/expression you are right, I solve this with Behringer FCB1010 (even considering that PX-5S born as Stage Piano...) 2) lack of Mono mode but again I don't see a product like the PX-5S the best buy for lead synth needs, both for weighted keybed and lack of aftertouch, that's why I use an Ultranova by Novation 3) Organ: as I mentioned several times I don't think that PX-5S is a viable organ solution, problems are (before sound and Leslie sim) related to the keybed. Even with a great sound and a marvelous Leslie sim if you don't perform them with a waterfall keyboard you miss a lot in terms of final result! As Joelfan stated above what moved us (PX-5S owners) to choose this product are all the good things that he mentioned very well...and don't forget the very competitive price!
  14. Hi, suggestion: I'm not that techie to know how much is difficult (and expensive) to make a device that can trasform the volume pedal (or expression pedal) potentiometer to a midi CC (ie. 11). If somebody can build such a board that has input for a STD expression pedal and a midi OUT with the proper CC (like a mini FCB1010) and this will cost in the range of 30-40 $ I guess there is a market for this. I found this Wheel Electronic but it's bit too expensive...what is needed it's a "downsize" solution... I own a FCB1010, it's a great product but it's bi and heavy and this is not good particularly for the small gig...
  15. Hi, I just bought a FCB1010. I need to use this to get advantage of the 2 exp. pedals (one I uses for volume on Zone 1 and usually the 2nd to control chorus on most of the EP Stage Settings): this is done and it was really simple to achieve. The other reason is to be able to switch the Stage Setting just by pressing one button (plus bank up and down if needed). After 4 hours of trials I wasn't able to achieve this result. Any help here? Many thanks, bye Massimo
  16. any news about the new sounds? it's almost March 18th...
  17. Hi I'm using the HK Lucas Nano at home for practising and on stage as personal monitor (or for very small venue). Great crystal clear sound!
  18. thanks, unfortunately I dicovered from another post that this is possible only with Hex Layer tones...this doesn't apply to melody tones.
  19. I need to control volume of 2 zones tones with a single slider like a cross-fader: when the slider is up Brass is on and Strings is off and when is down Brass is off and Strings is on. Both Brass and Strings are Melody Tones. Can somebody help me pls?
