  1. I've been trying all kind of set up to be able to have a drum beat live with my PX. Sure you can build a beat with the phrases but sometimes I am kind of lazy, so I arrived to a interesting compromise, I have a MOXF from Yamaha and I bought a IOS softwares from the apps store (Itunes) ''synth and doctor pad from Yamaha'' $7.99 it let's you use the pads (16) to play chords with one finger or bass and chords. it also has drum beat that you trigger from the virtual keyboard of the software, a hold function loops the beat, you can choose and change on the fly. Set the software to channel 10 (output) and it plays the drum of the PX, without stopping you from playing any stage setting in the same time. It will always play the same set (it's a good one, I am trying to find out which one) but the mapping is perfect. You must have either the IKmultimedia midi rig on the Yamaha IMX1 (the IKmultimedia is cheaper and work's great $40.00) One limitation you have to use the output only for the drum, if you plug the in and out , first note you will play on the PX will stop the drum. there's probably a workaround for that in the midi preference of the PX. The pad will also play with in/out plugged, So for about $50.00 you have a drummer to keep you tight. Padking
  2. Yamaha MOXF 355MB (when converted to 16-bit linear format), 2,670 waveforms, over 6500 arpeggios........ 1 GIG flash memory optional Korg KROME 3.8 GB PCM memory ..........583 multisamples........... It's hard to really compare those are synth (with 88 keyboard) and the PX-5S is first of all a stage piano and synth. Padking
  3. Thank you guy's, but I am struggling : OK so I made a recording with SS03 Illuminated, zone 1 on Zone 2 off had playback of the 2 zones while performing , on the DAW no double note, on the playback (after recording) I ear only the piano sound if I choose output ch 1 and only the pad if I choose ch 2. I fought I could use the all channel out in logic but it does not work you ear only the piano. Only solution I found so far, is to copy the midi of track one to track two and change the output channel track 1 output ch1 track 2 output ch 2 then I ear the piano and the pad, in fact that's the purpose of it all, record a SS and have everything at playback. 4. The problem does not appear in my home studio, only my PX and MOXF are used (usb) I found out this morning that the duplicate do not appear at home only in the recording studio, we also use Logic but with many more instruments plugged in the computer. Could be a loop thing or.......... will investigate this week and I will communicate my finding if any. The problem with logic is that you cannot choose a different midi instrument for each trac, you have to go in the environnement window and do some very complicated operations to separate the input...................anyway this is not the place to talk about that. 5. Ok found it I was looking in manuals, it was on the downloads page of the editor. Thank you Padking
  6. I experience a bizarre problem when recording (midi) with Logic, when recording the midi notes are all double. when you look at your recording in the piano roll all notes are there but double. tried it with my MOXF no double notes, am I doing something wrong ? p.s using USB midi out (local on or off doesn't change anything) Padking
  7. I am still searching for the pdf on tech support/manuals there's the user guide, the tutorial and midi implementation, but nothing on the editor. Could you tell me where it is ? thank you Padking
  8. Yes it would be interesting to know the ''inner'' details Is there some RAM or only ROM ? Sample rate ?....... is it possible to expand ? Would also like some literature on the editor, there's nothing available if i am not mistaking. Padking
  9. It's the spot my cat like's the most ( not in, on it !!!! ) Got to watch the dog, so he won't have the same ideas ( royal poodle 120 pounds) could be a problem ! Padking
  10. Thank you Krullebolle, I read the post, same kind of problem, so i will wait for 1.12 which should be out soon. By the way my SS is now OK in my PX but when I load it in the editor it looses some modification I made ....... so we will see what 1.12 will do. I loaded it on the site to see if others have the modifications on their PX no response yet. Padking
  11. This is a double of a post I placed today, I think I should have posted it here ''editing a stage settings'' I have started to edit some stage settings, by the way I find the editor very friendly to use but there's seems to be some things I dont understand. The stage setting is 9-9 ep/bass/shuffle I wanted to change the synth bass to a finger bass, it's done easily by changing the instrument name by clicking on the grey rectangle the list appears you chose what you want, great. Then I 've changed the key range for zone 1 to C-1 B1 so I would not hear the drum sound in the lowest part of the Keyboard, great Then I wanted to Loop the phrases, the drum beat stop when you let go of the notes now there's something weird here, if I am not mistaking we are dealing with a phrase here not a arpeggio, in Zone/mixer you scroll down and you see that it's using phrase 097, shuffle drum, nowhere in this area you find a function for looping the phrase, only place I could find is in common, you got tempo/phrase/arpeggio with 3 choices when a choose hold it does hold the drum beat by pressing the notes (C-1 B1). What I don't understand is that we are dealing with a phrase not a arpeggio ???? but last but not least I cannot save everything, the drum mapping will be OK, but the bass sound and the hold function are not saved. I tried saving as user data tought it would overwrite the 9-9 setting, nope! I tried saving as a new file and load it after, same result ! One last thing on the PX the phrase 097 as loop ON Sorry for the long post but I think we can all learn of that, those are very basic functions. So if someone want's to help..... post 2 Okay so I kept at it : Only solution I found was to use the write function on the keyboard now I changed the bass sound (acoustic basse 1), the phrase is now looping without problem. and the key range is modified to -C1/B1 I changed to another stage settings and came back to 9-9 and it keep the modification sure would like to know why I cannot get the same result with the editor. I will upload the stage settings name: EP/BASS/SHUFFLE/NEW if you want to give it a try in the editor. Padking
  12. 99 downloads

This is the 9-9 bass-ep-shuf original file, modified, with a new bass , and modified key range for the phrase (-C1/B1) also the phrase is loop so you dont have to keep playing notes to trigger the drum beat. the file is the result of a post i did because the editor could not save the changes I had made, I had to use the write function on the keyboard. The hold function of the arpeggio turns back to ON instead of hold after saving, verify if this is the case. see if you can find a solution. Padking

  16. Thank you for your help. Padking
  17. OK, I notice now the same thing in the others banks, like piano, organ............. So you can move the user tones . Are the default tones in ROM ? So they cannot be move or edit ? Or if you want to edit them you must copy the result of your work in a user number ?
  18. I am starting to work with the editor, but there's something weird. In transfer, the right list (tone on the PX) for the Xlayer start at HEX U 50 up to 199 where's the 0 to 49 ? But when I go to parameter edit, the xlayer from 0 to 49 are there but not the rest ????? Am I doing something wrong or......... Padking
  19. I was viewing a video from NAMM 2014, a Casio representative was using a Ipad to change tones and settings, anybody know's what it was, nothing on aps store. Padking
  20. +1 I do miss a drum track, I have a MOXF and I really enjoy having a drummer aboard. Padking
