    PX-S3100

I have received my money back under warranty for both models as they were not fit for purpose, sorry can't help.
  3. Hi All, returned my PXS-3100 and received a full refund. Waiting for a new motherboard in my PXS-3000. It will be interesting to see if this fixes the problem. Merry Christmas to all members and to administrators thank you for this wonderful forum...Glen Shepherd
  4. Hi Joe, just remembered, I replicated the issue( my second keyboard PXS-3000) in front of the Casio Warranty technician at his workshop some 100km from my home. He agreed that there was a fault and said he would order a new motherboard ( September 3rd ) still waiting.
  5. Hi Joe, this is the third keyboard with exactly the same problem. I have had the problem at my home and in the various clubs where I play. In respect to the latest PXS-3100 failure I was playing at a dance in front of 50 people when it crashed leaving the dancers flabbergasted . I have asked the seller for a refund as it is only 10 days old. When my PXS-3000 is repaired? with a new motherboard I expect the problem will still exist. I use registrations extensively and the failure always occurs on changing registration. I still feel the processing chip does not have sufficient power to handle complex algorithms.
  6. Hi Natalie, check out my comments on this problem. Sounds very similar to the way my keyboards have behaved. I believe the problem lies within the processing chip.
  7. Hi Brad, thanks for your reply. I didn't have any peripherals attached to the keyboard. I was just changing registrations and it crashed , the same as the previous 2 keyboards have done. I'm sure you can understand my frustration as I love the product. Please anyone in Australia or Asia-Pacific if you have experienced this event let me know via the forum so that I know I'm not alone.........
  8. Hi All, I purchased a new PX-S3100 receiving it on Friday 3rd December. After several hours of work over a number of days I have almost finished setting up my registrations but the keyboard has crashed. The LCD freezes, no sound then after a few seconds the keyboard turns off! Back to square one. My "old" PX-S3000 ( the second one , as the first was replaced with a brand new one) was assessed by the Casio warranty technician in early September and he observed the crash on the workbench. He has ordered a new motherboard, but we are still waiting. The new PX-S3100 has exhibited exactly the same problem. Surely I'm not the only person having this problem. Come on Casio give me some answers please? I now have 2 keyboards both having intermittent failure. I intended to use the PX-S3100 on the job and keep the old one as a home keyboard. However, I can't rely on either. Unfortunately unless I can get some explanation from Casio I will take this to Australian Consumer Affairs.
  9. My new PXS-3100 works perfectly via bluetooth midi to my iPad Pro using Galileo organ and other apps. Also I've noticed you can now switch off the keyboard speakers when using an external amplifier....a common sense inclusion.
  10. Hi All, just received ( bought) a new PX-S3100 to replace, supplement my PX-S3000 which still has intermittent failures and is due to have the motherboard replaced as soon as the parts arrive. I've struck one compatibility problem already. The PX-S3100 won't load my registrations from the PX-S3000. This is a real nuisance as I thought the two keyboards would be fairly compatible and I've spent a lot of time programming my registrations for the 4 separate gigs where I perform regularly. I hope the new one doesn't repeat the failure of the old model but time will tell. I intend to keep the old one purely for home use. Any advice appreciated...old shep.... ( getting older by the minuet)
  11. Hi , I use Sony headphones and the sound is great. My plug has 4 poles. Not sure if this is pertinent?
  12. Thanks heaps , your download works meaning I can use PX-s3000 tones in the left hand controlling styles from the BK-7M and using tones from the BK-7M in my right hand.
  13. Sometimes when I turn it off( my PX 560M) it comes on again straight away....maybe my finger is bewitched causing my PX-S3000 problems as well?
  14. I connect my PX-S3000 to a Roland BK-7M ( module) using MidiPlus interface , however, I would like to have a split keyboard with left controlling the module with PX tones and right using PX tones or alternatively BK tones. To use BK sounds I need to be able to silence the right hand part of the PX keyboard but still send a midi signal. I can do this with my PX-560M but as yet can't find a way to do it on the PX-S3000. I need to be able to save a "nil" tone as a registration ie one that sends all the midi info but no sound. Any help appreciated.....
  15. I have a Midiplus module ( USB Midi Host) which works fine. I connect my PX-S3000 to a Roland BK-7M ( module) , however, I would like to have a split keyboard with left controlling the module and right using PX sounds or alternatively BK sounds. To use BK sounds I need to be able to silence the right hand part of the PX keyboard but still send a midi signal. I can do this with my PX-560M but as yet can't find a way to do it on the PX-S3000. I need to be able to save a "nill" sound ie one that sends all the midi info but no sound. Any help appreciated.....
  16. Hi All, my PX- S3000 continues to fail randomly. I have had it assessed by a Casio Warranty Technician and the motherboard will be replaced. The thought is that it could be a tiny error in the programming code. Still waiting for the part....here's hoping?
  17. I agree. Just tried this feature but you would need to write music specifically for the notes played and the" versatile effect "required. A better feature would be to allow note bending or other "versatile effects " on tones , using the expression pedal.
  18. Hi , I have a PX 560M and it has malfunctioned twice with a similar problem, however, if you read the PX-S3000 section of the forum my entires are relating to failure with the PX-S3000. A long straw but maybe related to similar electronics?
  19. The PX-S1000 and PX-S3000 have a totally different keybed to the PX 5S. I owned a PX 5S and now own a PX-S3000 and a PX 560 M , however, my PX-S3000 is not a good controller as it lacks many functions found in the PX 5S and PX 560M that are needed as a controller. The best solution would be a dedicated controller like the Arturia Keylab 88, no sounds but a great keybed. Unfortunately with modern keyboard products you can never find the perfect combination to satisfy all your whims.
  20. Thanks Hank, I like your idea of a batch recall, I hadn't thought of the problem being related to certain batch? I've discovered I can replicate my failure by rapidly changing registrations and when I get the chance I'll demonstrate this to the Casio warranty technician. Currently we are in lockdown again so no gigs .
  21. No luck with the factory reset. Froze this morning, at home, while changing registrations. Same problem, no sound then it switches off! Does anyone on the forum with a PX-S3000 live in Australia, maybe our power supply is the cause , although I doubt it. Any comments welcome, "old shep" getting older every failure!
  22. Hi Tmac, I have a PX-560M as well so far so good, but also have a PX-S3000 which does crazy things, check out my problem in the PX-S3000 section of the forum. I wonder if they use the same chips in the PX-560M?
  23. Thanks Mike, yesterday I saved all data , did a factory reset and turned off all settings I don't use, like auto resume. I will notify our local distributor so the problem is on record. NSW in Oz is currently in lockdown again so gigs have dried up.
  24. Hi Mike ,the keyboard froze immediately on changing registrations. The video shows bank 2 area 2 which worked fine then changed to bank 3 and immediately it froze. It then turns off in a couple of seconds. I have changed the power source and am convinced this is not the problem as this is the second keyboard with the same problem. I calculate on a typical gig I would do 50 registration changes. To produce the video failure I had to go through many cycles of registration change (100's). However, because the failure is at random it could happen after one registration change. I feel it is CPU problem and as we all know computers are notorious for intermittent problems. I don't think that Casio would give me another keyboard under warranty, and I expect the same thing would happen again. I may have to save my meagre pennies and buy a more reliable brand. I'll be interested to see what happens with the "new" model. Thanks for your moderation of this site it is invaluable for the users.
  25. Hi Joe and others interested. I have spent many hours to try to capture the problem and have succeeded . I set up my phone and ran the video whilst changing banks and registrations at random. The result was I captured the keyboard freezing and then a few seconds later turning off . This is exactly the same problem I experienced at the gig last Saturday. When restarted the keyboard was normal. As I stated previously the current keyboard is a "new one" replaced under warranty because the first one was doing exactly the same thing! I love the action and sounds of this keyboard but as a professional player I cannot afford for this to happen. Comments and advice welcome. PX-S3000 Frozen.mov
