  1. Good solution. High Res MIDI can also be turned off globally. I needed to do that when using the PX-5S with my Electro 2 Rack. It was expecting something else on that channel. The only bad thing about this is when you do want to use High Res MIDI, you have to remember to turn it back on.
  2. You're still under warranty. You should contact Casio support, Mike Martin, or your retailer. These things shouldn't go bad after a couple of months.
  3. Where do you want this? Or has it been properly relocated already?
  4. I use my PX-5S with Ivory all the time. It's great. I've even set up Ivory so some of the virtual knobs can be controlled by the real knobs/sliders on the PX-5S. The only virtual knob I can't seem to control is the one I'd like to control most, overall level. That's not the fault of the PX-5S, though. I've also used the PX-5S with Apple's MainStage, and can map the controls with that easily as well.
  5. I haven't noticed this on mine. Is it something that you could demonstrate in a video, or is it completely a "feel" thing? Are you near any Casio dealers where you can try out another PX-5S (or PX-350, 850, etc.) for comparison?
  6. First things first - have you updated to the latest firmware, 1.11?
  7. I only watched the posted YouTube video, not the live clinic. While I missed participating in the chat, I didn't feel like as a viewer of the clinic that I lost out by not having it. It's not like when you watch a broadcast of a live presentation and they take questions from the audience, the questioners don't use the microphones, and the presenter just answers instead of repeating the questions. Mike did a good job of telling us what the questions were.
  8. I forgot to mention that it appears the Data Editor is also updated.
  9. The 1.11 firmware update is out. You guys should install it and see if it fixes the issue you're seeing. http://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=20
  10. Guess what? 1.11 is out. http://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=20 Instructions to do the update are in Mike's initial post that started the thread. This update should work the same way.
  11. That's a great point, Mike. More feedback means better sounds... erm, I mean user feedback, not audio feedback, of course.
  12. You can find out what version of firmware yours has under the system menu, I believe (I'm not at mine right now but I can find out later the specific steps if you need it). Or you can simply install 1.10 using the steps given previously, though if you changed Stage Settings I think it will reset them. I'd guess that yours already has 1.10 since it came out a while ago.
  13. One thing I'd like to see with the various downloads that are posted would be examples of the sound, possibly in use. I don't mean a link to Stevie's version of Superstition, what I want to hear is what your patch sounds like coming from your PX-5S. At first, I was collecting all the downloads but after a while there were too many and lots I probably wouldn't use. (I generally don't play in cover bands, for instance.) Still, I'd like to hear what you guys have done with your sounds without loading each of them in my PX-5S and possibly having to learn the associated tune. Even if the associated tune is something I might not play myself, it's possible I might hear it and say to myself, "hey, I could use that one" and download it. What do you-all think?
  14. That's funny, because I feel the opposite way. I mainly play jazz, blues, and rock, yet most demos I hear are classical! Do none of the sounds on this page help you? http://www.casiomusicgear.com/sounds
  15. These are great. My biggest problem is restraining myself and not giving Mike a hard time while he's doing it.
  16. I hadn't even thought about that. But I would think most would want it to sound like REO does it. You could always do a Riders on the Storm with one layer being the storm and another being the EP.
  17. Ha ha - that's cool. It sounds like a live Kevin Cronin version. I wonder when it's from since the video page shows no info.
  18. Funny, I've never heard the original version with the other vocalist. I'm much more familiar with the version with Cronin singing. Which version do you guys think of when you do it?
  19. What's the error message and when does it appear? What are you trying to do with the files? Most of the time, I download them and then put them on my USB drive and stick 'em in my PX-5S. I don't usually try to install them with the Data Editor, though I've done it sometimes.
  20. I don't know. I leave myself signed in on my primary computer and it seems to stay that way. Anyone else?
  21. There is a workaround for the expression pedal issue. See the first post here for a description. I've seen more details about this elsewhere so search around if you need more info. I can't find other links at this hour but they're out there.
  22. (I've moved this topic into the general PX-5S area because it seemed to not have to do with any downloads. If I'm wrong, let me know.)
