  1. It's plugged in and installed. I think I just have to start transferring (not at PX5S right now...). Will report back when success!
  2. Where is the other new ALL file? I don't know enough about bank set-up to know which is preferable... Which is the easiest for newbies? Do you think I should load in one of the new ALL files, or load the boldfaced individual files? (apparently, the boldfaced ones are the "new" ones). I guess it's probably easier to just load one of the new ALL files, check it out, and I can reload the old one if I want to have any of those files back... THEN load new ones individually, after I've auditioned them.... Thanks...
  3. Windows 7 Home Professional. Does it matter which one I do first - turn on the PX5S or open the Editor?
  4. OK, I'll do that. For the moment, the data editor is blank and doesn't appear to be reading any info off of the keyboard.
  5. Thanks, Brad. I've got the Editor, but I've not tried to make sense of it yet. I guess that's my next project! On a simpler note, I did successfully change Bank 61 (fretless bass & electric piano) to feature a wurli, but, but said wurli's range is all 88 keys. The air electric piano in Bank 61 cuts off where the bass starts, at E/F below middle C. How can I make the wurli do the same thing FOR THIS BANK ONLY (i.e., not when used as a tone by itself)? I think these "newbie" issues will go away once I figure the architecture out and wrap my head around it. For the moment, it's still fuzzy ~ ~ ~.. So, thanks!
  6. Do you think I'm better off loading new stage settings individually, as opposed to the new "ALL" file, which would overwrite the existing tones that make up stage settings (some of which I want to keep, at least for now)? Thanks... I just don't want to screw anything up. I've got no experience with this sort of thing!
  7. Thank you, Joe... OK, so to review, it sounds like I should (if I want to keep some of the existing stage settings): 1. NOT install the new "ALL" file (I note that this will mean that I don't get the benefit of the "alternate order" feature, whatever that is); 2. Load each sound I want to into into the PX5S individually; 3. After selecting an existing tone to "sacrifice." CORRECT? QUESTION: 1. Is there any way to save the existing tones individually? Thank you for your assistance! (as you may have guessed, I've never done anything like this before, and I don't want to screw anything up!)
  8. Joe, here's where I'm totally confused! I "get it" if I want to install the new "all" file of stage settings - that will overwrite everything else. I'd like to do that, but keep about 10 of the original stage settings - how to do this? Can I replace ones I don't want with ones I do? ALTERNATIVELY --- Let's say I want to install "Herbie's Rhodes..." I have the editor, but it's all zones and stage settings - not individual tones. How would I install HR and not overwrite any of the existing Rhodes? Are there not empty banks for this? Thanks, - Jeff
  9. Hey, also, if I download one sound (say, the "Summer of 69" organ), how would I go about placing it somewhere so as not overwrite any other tones? Apparently the stage settings are fully occupied, but there are blank user fillable tones slots..... Thanks...
  10. Hey, I've not downloaded it (or anything else) yet (just received my PX5S)... However, would this overwrite the (when I download the new all file) 6 drawbar organ? Is the Leslie on or off? If off, can it be turned on? Thanks...
  11. Thanks, BradMZ! I've gone through all of the existing stage settings and there are ten that will be overwritten by the updated version that I'd like to keep. There are at least 10 of the old version that I don't care about. How can I "exchange" these 10 stage settings? Can I load individual stage settings from the old version back into the new version, in different "slots" (banks and slots, say #67) or, alternatively, can I just load in the new (boldfaced) state settings into banks and slots that I don't care about (which will have different numbers, i.e., load "new" #897 into "old" #23 or whatever). Thanks....
  12. I want to "follow" this topic, but the "follow" button won't work.... What am I doing wrong? Thanks...
  13. Hey, are these (from September 2014) the latest? Thanks...
  14. Is there a file that has all the stage settings for the latest firmware?
  15. To be clear, does loading in ONE new stage setting wipe out ALL of the 100 existing stage settings? Thanks.
  16. What custom gig bag did you get, Rodan? I want one with backpack straps. The Casio Privia gig bag does not have these. I just received my PX5S and carrying a tenor saxophone in its gig case along with the PX5S is a little challenging. Thanks.
  17. Thanks, Theodorn, that's very helpful. Is there a list or chart of all of the factory tones and stage settings, and what location, bank, etc. they are located in?
  18. Thanks, Joe. So a download just overwrites the particular sound in question, not every sound in the entire PX5S?
  19. I just received my PX5S... Should I back up/save the currently installed stuff on my PX5S, or does the firmware update just "better" what's already there? I haven't done any editing at all yet. Thanks....
  20. Hey Joe, I just received my PX5S (actually a few days ago, but the Forum was "down..." I want to try to download something, but I don't want to erase everything that is on the unit. So, to be clear, if I download, say, the 6drawbar organ, that erases the entire slew of pianos, electric pianos, stage settings, etc. that the unit comes with? Or just the organ? Where are the "original" sounds for download, to revert to the original state? Thanks, - Jeff PS: Where is the "Herbie's Rhodes" that Mike Martin talks about in one of his videos?
  21. I just received my PX5S, just in time for the Forum to go down... Anyway, I want to try downloading something, but I don't want to overwrite anything! Is there a quick and painless primer on this stuff? If I download a new (for example) piano sound, will it overwrite the existing sound (which I don't want to do)? Or, will it have it's own new name and space in the memory? Thanks... - Jeff
