  1. You are right. I did suppress higher registers a little bit to make the sound softer and tried to spread a balance across. Happy Holidays Everyone !!!
  2. Casio PX360 - Veinese Waltz Yamaha Montage - Cathedral Organ
  3. I do not know why this happens. I used to see the No Media error before more often. Now I switched to another brand and it helped a little bit. No No Media any more Seriously, I noticed the no media error stopped happening on my PX 360. No firmware change(there is no such option ), it is the same memory stick. Maybe I have developed a certain route and unconsciously avoiding this problem. Try to format the memory using different platforms. I think the last time I have formatted mine on another synth from a different brand.
  4. I would say it is very difficult to find a solution for your case. It looks like you used to the sound of your acoustic piano and you want the same sound from a digital one. That will not happen (In my opinion)
  5. Unfortunately(or fortunately), I went this way a couple of years ago. In my experience, Roland provides the best solution to the problem. I had FA-08 and do not know whether A-88 has the same keyboard. (most likely it does) Yamaha is a little bit noisier (tapping noise).
  6. There are a few keys which virtually have never been used on my PX(highest and lowest notes). They produce the same amount of noise as middle ones. It is a loud noise. The most significant noise is created when keys go up(released). This is a well-known problem. It is good that people keep talking about it. Maybe next NAMM we will see the next generation of Casio keyboard.
  7. A couple of notes about Montage. Normally the manufacturer does not say anything about these "features". 1) There are 8 channels out of 16 are controllable by Keyboard. (The last 8 are intended to be controlled by external devices(DAWs) ) 2) The destination midi channels are not assignable. This means part 1 is always assigned to channel 1, part 2 to channel 2. Another option is to send all parts to a single channel. This creates inconvenience when working with DAW since many performances are complex (include more than one part) 3) Comparing to PX Audio and MIDI recorder. On PX it is possible to play a MIDI song and record it simultaneously as audio. There is no such option on Montage. 4) The biggest problem on all Yamaha Synths I had is a sound of Piano. I tried and returned MX, MOXF for this reason. Montage has the same problem (actually on MX the keyboard is terrible). Yamaha puts in the piano section CFX in combination with varieties of other instruments. However, personally, I hate how digital version of CFX sounds. (It is Ok when it used in a bundle with other instruments) The lifesaver here is the external sound library Bosendorfer Imperial Grand Piano, which comes free for owners of Montage.
  8. This course does not cover jazz at all. It does not mix modes/scales and does not introduce any fancy rhythms. There are two sections. The Technique section is based on major and minor (natural) scales. Answering your question - I had no experience playing piano at all 4 years ago. All practice was done under the supervision of PianoMarvel. I do not like any other courses. This one at least has a straight guideline (this is what I used to) It does not go too deep. With such an approach(computer tutoring), it is easy to be dragged into just stupid repeating of notes instead of creating an artistic performance. That's where the human teacher should play its role. (no AI is allowed)
  9. Agree, it is petty a simple one. PianoMarvel has two level scales. In the learning course from 1-6. The second one in Library from 1 to 17. This is the level I could find in the library. I assume it is 2 or 3 in the course (I do not remember.). At least I know this part for a couple of years. Now it is time to drop it from the repertoire. And forget (to free more room from newer pieces). Likely our dog does not sing and this is great But he has a very strong voice. I was singing at a very high level when I was 9 to 12. It was the children's choir of TV and Radio committee of Saint Petersburg. We had a countless number of recordings and performances. Actually, I do not count myself as a singer at all. So, I use that mic to experiment with the voice processor whenever nobody home
  10. Totally correct. This keyboard is heavy as hell or as a tank. It never bothered me, since I do not have to care it. For traveling I have PX-360.
  11. The Entertainer - light version. Part of PianoMarvel course. Completed a year or two ago. Recorded today - Fixed some typos and re-submitted This file is recorded on PX360 The Entertainer.mp3 Sound is Grand Piano.
  12. Just a note - the keyboards you mentioned do not have full-size keys.
  13. Another option is to create an arpeggiator with MIDI events(not notes)
  14. Thank you Muso7 for the information about the quality of the keys! Sooner Casio will recognize that the keys noise is a serious factor for people to make a decision about the next purchase, sooner its products will get to the next level.
  15. Here is the area which can be improved. Listed above questions have a more advanced implementation in some products of other brands.
  16. Actually, see page 69 of the manual for Motif-Rack The rack can ignore bank/program change command from the external controller.
  17. This sounds reasonable. There are very detailed MIDI settings on some controllers (for instance Roland FA (Integra) provides options to ignore program changes) I do not know specs for Motif Rack. On regular Motif, I do not remember options which allow ignoring program change commands from the external controller.
  18. FA sequencer is a useless piece of art :) I love FA but do not miss it.
  19. Questions about MZ: How many different arpeggio patterns can be played simultaneously? How many channels can be used to generate a new custom arpeggio? How many notes can be programmed per channel when creating a custom arpeggio?
  20. I do not suspect the pitch bend controller since when the drift happens moving the wheel does not solve the problem. I relate this issue to two factors - an age and not using the instrument for quite a while. The problem solved by itself (recently experienced the once).
