Display Name Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Hey there and welcome to the forums. Chiptunes are very easy to do as the sounds are just raw synth tones with slight changes to the envelope and filters. So find the raw square, saw, triangle waves and tweak them to your liking. Then use the step sequencer and arpeggiator to animate the sounds. You will also find a ton of 8 bitish drum samples in there you'll be able to put to good use in your music. For inspiration, check out this video... All the music was made on the P1 (expect the credit music, that's an SA keyboard demo!) 2 Quote
krakenripper Posted February 15, 2018 Author Posted February 15, 2018 Thank you so much for the info, i'm gonna try that and latter i'll be posting some of the songs i'll record, well at least most decent ones. Quote
mycca93 Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Hi, if you wanna make some chiptune with the real limitations of old consoles and hardwares of 80s and 90s... search about especific hardwares and consoles limitations. I made some chiptune tracks using xwp1 has midi controller... with C700 vst plugin, its emulates the SPC700 sound hip from SNES. Thats amazing. Well... other way is literally using tones of XWP1 and decrease the quality of audio in your DAW. resampling and save the sounds in lower bitrate formats can do some distortions and dowsampling the quality. Good luck Quote
