Vintage
Hi- I just purchased a PX-560 and I see it came pre-loaded with Firmware 01.15. I haven't seen mention of this version anywhere and was wondering what improvements or changes are in it vs the 01.14. I don't even see this version available for download. Thoughts? Vintage
One thing I see is that the Yamaha FC-7 pedal that I have works as well as the Roland EV-5 that I bought just for this keyboard. I had read through other threads that that the FC-7 wasn't compatible. Possibly due to the firmware? Brian
Joe Muscara
This has been discussed in other threads here but no one seems to know anything besides that it exists and that it's only available on models that shipped with it.
Vintage
Thank you for the reply Joe. All I know so far is the FC7 works!
Brad Saucier
Version 1.15 is now available for download. https://support.casio.com/en/support/download.php?cid=008&pid=1263 1
Joe Muscara
"Improving certain operation." That's useful! 😂
Brad Saucier
I think it's their way of saying "improved stability", bug fixes.
Joe Muscara
I know. It's just funny both for it's lack of specificity and possibly poor translation.
Luciano Medoni
I have installed this upgrade ... no problem found. Kisses
Billsolo
Casio needs to address more with this keyboard. Give us some support with tones and so on. More updates would be great. I am a professional player using this board not for a play at home instrument. The PX 5 had that little screen that really sucked!
kybdsammer
I have also installed the new firmware 1.15. It took some time to update, but it seems to be working with no issues so far. However, I still cannot tell what has changed. I sent an email to Casio to ask if they can provide more information on the changes. A representative responded and said he has contacted their parent company in Japan to see if they can provide more information. So far no response from them. Has anyone else figured out what operation improvements were made?
kybdsammer
Here is the response from Casio Japan: "In firmware version 1.15, we added the function that start with "GM SYSTEM ON" system."
bfields
I'm getting abysmal download speeds (like 10's of KB/s) and timeouts trying to download the zip file with the update. Anyone know what's up? My internet connection is otherwise fine.
bfields
OK, I finally did get it downloaded, but it took a few tries and 15-20 minutes. Something needs fixing.
bfields
The instructions could use a little work, too. "After the update, you need to run the "Initialize All"." What does that even mean?
Joe Muscara
I would imagine that it's similar to the update process for the PX-5S, which requires the same thing. If you search for Mike/Casio's videos about doing the firmware update on the PX-5S, you'll see it.

I suspect the GM SYSTEM was not ON as a default until firmware 1.15. However, this is just my interpretation of their response to me. If anyone else has more clarification on the update, please let us know. Thanks.
