What is GM Tones, How different in normal tones.

Recommended Posts

GM = General MIDI. These are, in essence, a set of standard sounds across all brands of keyboards. They each may sound slightly different between brands, but overall it's a pretty good system. Without this, MIDI files wouldn't work right; you'd have to assign each track to an instrument manually.

OK so to record to a PC? You need an audio interface and a DAW or audio recording program (Audacity, for example).  So you take the audio from the CTK and go into the interface and then the interface goes to the PC via USB.
