DavidEzell
This is for live performance by two keyboard players, not for recording. I would like to transmit MIDI note on/note off from my WK-7500 to an external keyboard by playing the Casio, without using a computer. I would like to transmit right and left hand notes on two different MIDI channels. I would like the external keyboard to receive the messages on high numbered channels so that I can use 1-8 for playing the other keyboard. I have a USB to MIDI interface, and in testing it I found that it's working for transmitting Channel 4 from Casio, and receiving Channel 4 on external. The available sounds on the external are better for the particular music I'm creating.
Brad Saucier
Hi David, welcome to the forums! You can turn on split mode and select the same tone for upper 1 and lower. That setup will transmit on 2 different channels. By default, WK-7500 transmit channels are... Upper 1 - Channel 1 Upper 2 - Channel 2 Lower - Channel 3 You can change what channel upper 1 transmits data on in the function menu under MIDI>keyboard channel, however upper 2 and the lower part can not be changed. DavidEzell
Thanks so much for the quick reply. This info is so helpful. The attached page (162) from my owner's manual gave me hope that I could send and receive on all 16 channels. When I went to page 36 I saw that the B channels must be for recorded songs, not live performance.
