Marika
Hello, I ordered this keyboard last night and I want to order the cables/cords to plug it into my MacBook Air 2019 and my iPad 2019. The MacBook Air has a USB-C port and my iPad has a lightening charger port. I want to have everything ready for Christmas, but don't want to order the wrong things. Thanks in advance! Brad Saucier
I suggest a genuine Apple camera adapter kit for the iPad. Generic models are often problematic. Then you'll need cables. You'll need a USB Micro-B to A for the iPad, that is rated as a data cable, not just a charging cable. You'll want one that goes to C as well for the MacBook. Joe Muscara
Unless the iPad also has USB-C. I can't keep track of which models have that.
Marika
Thank you so much for the responses! The iPad has a lightening connector. Do you have a specific cord you could recommend? Also, would something like this work instead of the camera adapter kit?
Joe Muscara
I haven't heard of anyone using that, and I'm not highly confident it would work since it only talks about using it to charge and sync. OTOH, the camera adaptor doesn't mention what we use it for either so I don't know.
Marika
Thank you again. For the MacBook do I still need a Apple Camera Adapter or can I just use a cord that is Micro USB to USB C? such as this one?
Joe Muscara
Since it says that connector is Micro-B I think it should work. You definitely don't need the Apple Camera Adapter for the MacBook.
Lee81
hello just received a ct-s200 as a gift and trying to connect it to my MacBook, checking if a usb-c to micro usb will actually work and have the keyboard recognized by GarageBand?
