Choppin Posted December 17, 2020 Share Posted December 17, 2020 I was just curious if anyone did any recording of their PX-5s using mics. I've done some direct recording through the line outs into an audio interface and into a DAW. Those results are always good. The sound quality with the internal DSP etc. has always impressed me. I did a quick "live" recording using my phone as the capture device and when I played it back, I didn't realize just how clacky and rattely the keys sounded. It was like I had an additional rythm track going on! 😄 I just wondered if anyone has tried to Mic their px-5s and if they picked up all of that key rattle and how they dealt with it. I've seen people place a phone directly on top of the keyboard and record audio. As you can imagine, the key noise was most pronounced.
