Musho toku
Hi! is it possible to sample from the audio inputs, and then play that sample from the keyboard? As is done in the Casio SK1, for example. I know it can be done on the pads. But I can't find information about my question. Thank you! Brad Saucier
I answered your previous post of the same question. You can sample from the input to the pads only. To play on the keys, you need to use the sample manager software and a computer to record samples. https://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/topic/16399-mz-x-500-sampling-scenarios/&do=findComment&comment=72229
Musho toku
Hi! ... yes, I know ... my bad ... I am deciding between an XWP1 and a Mzx500. I was sure about the XW until I found the Mzx, its screen, speakers, sensitive pads and read "sampler" ... I have an SK1 and it is the most fun and inspiring keyboard I used, hence my fuss ... ~~ Is there a mid-range synthesizer (similar to the XWP1 or MZX) that samples like that "on the fly" ?? ~~ if you had to choose between the step sequencer of both ...? The idea is to be able to control various external devices via MIDI ... I know that the XWP1 fulfills that function. ~~ the quality of the mzx's built-in speakers? I thought about using them as studio monitors, since I am using headphones for that purpose .. several questions .... thank you !!

XW-G1 might fit your requirements. It has a sample looper which allows you to play samples on the keys without needing external software like the MZ requires. 57 minutes ago, Musho toku said: if you had to choose between the step sequencer of both ...? They are very different products. MZX is an arranger type keyboard. It has auto accompaniment and a pattern sequencer designed to created auto accompaniment rhythms. For MIDI control, I think either XW synth is your best choice. MZX speakers are excellent, but I would still prefer high quality headphones or studio monitors for critical work.
