Cyrano
Dear all, it is my understanding that PX S1100, S3100, PX 870 can record audio (wav) directly on a USB stick. My question is: is overdubbing possible, i.e. can you record on an existing song without deleting the notes already recorded? Thanks. Brad Saucier
The audio recorder does not have an overdub function. The PX-S3100 has a 3 track MIDI recorder. This can overdub two solo tracks over the first system track. Playback of the MIDI recorder can be recorded as audio onto a flash drive. The PX-870 includes a 2 track MIDI recorder. This can overdub one track over the first track. The audio recorder can record playback of the MIDI recorder here as well.
Cyrano
Thanks Brad, good to know. Record while playing over the internal MIDI recording playback is an interesting feature, but it is not addressing my key need: record my piano performance over an aebersold-like audio track. I have studied all the potential solutions, but since now I see only two ways: 1) Bluetooth streaming with PX S3000 (unfortunately S3100 needs to plug a dongle the USB port to receive Bluetooth) 2) Connect a device into the PX S3000/3100 aux in. This rule out both PX S1000/1100 and PX 870 - what a pity.
