smoothjazzaxe
In the process of researching a challenge on behalf of another end_user I downloaded Data Manager and its instruction pdf. It is advisable that those desiring MIDI implementation and data transfer download the software. On the support website, it's indicated that it is platform_neutral ( Windows/Mac/iOS ). The instructions seem very basic and straightforward. However, it is written primarily with Windows users in mind. I would very much be interested in hearing about the experience of those attempting to use it in a Linux distro. Thank you in advance Will
Chandler Holloway
Are you transferring files to a CT-X3000/X5000 model? I believe @mrmr9494 has some python libraries that handle data transfer to the CT-X models, and he uses Linux. You can also just use a flash drive to transfer files to those models in a pinch. It's not as fast for bulk file transfer of specific file types, but if you're only bringing over a few at a time it's perfectly fine. Plus it has two options that aren't available with Data Manager, namely exporting proprietary MRF recording files to MIDI for use in DAWs, and the ability to use the bulk All Data (.DAL) back-up files for restoring entire machine states/internal memory.
