Cercle
Hello. Has been this matter improved in these new models? Thanks in advance.
Brad Saucier
This is one of the updates starting in the PX-S3100 and PX-S1100, and carried over in the 5000, 7000 and 6000. The function menu now has 3 settings for "Speaker Out" (On, Off, Auto). "Off" stops all sound from the internal speakers regardless of whether a plug is inserted in the headphone jack. "Auto" causes it to work like a traditional headphone output, switching off internal speakers whenever a plug is inserted. "On" allows the speakers to continue functioning, even when a plug is inserted.

I have a PX-S3100 now and I have still to plug in the headphones in order to switch speakers off...
Brad Saucier
Go to the function menu, under the "system" submenu and look for "speaker out". Setting that to OFF should switch the speakers off without a plug in the jack.
Cercle
To be honest, when I changed the 3000 for the 3100 I thought it would still be the same story. I'll try it out tonight when I get home and let you know. Thank you!
Cercle
I'm a complete idiot. I've spent weeks working live with my new 3100 using a headphone jack to turn the speakers off when it can actually be done from the piano menu. Thank you very much Brad.
