Chord hold

By default, when accompaniment is playing, the last chord that you fingered on the keyboard will keep playing after you release the keys (that is, it "holds" the chord).  If you are looking for a way to put a short "break" in a song (have it stop playing the accompaniment briefly), you might be interested in the Synchro Stop function (see manual page EN-48).  Accompaniment will stop when you release the keys, and restart when you press them again.  If you are looking for ways to have only certain parts of the accompaniment stop, the only way I know of to do that is to define those parts as Phrases (using the Phrase pads), so you can turn them on and off with the push of a button.

Update: One other thought, if you are looking for something that will make the Bass/Chord parts stop when you release the keys, but keep the Percussion/Drum accompaniment going, I don't believe there is a "mode" to do that.  But depending on the song style, it could be defined within the Variation/Fills in the accompaniment.
