Just Alex
This is really disturbing! Say I have some rhythm, in which I want to change certain drum sound only. I go to editor and found out that event edit is greyed for rhythm tracks! I have to create new rhythm, and manually copy all elements to new rhythm, which means more than 60 copy-paste operations! Is there a direct way to "unlock" event editor for rhythms?
Akshansh - Alex
I think ReStyle would be the best option for this. One of our respected member created ReStyle software to unlock the rhythm. Go to this thread for further assist. https://www.casiomusicforums.com/index.php?/topic/20269-restyle-casio-ac7-rhythm-librarian-and-editor-hub-thread/
Just Alex
Yes, solved that by using a special, command line utility, coded by another member of this forum (Utility is private, not for public), but thanks anyway!
Just Alex
Having same issue again. When editing intro1 for this style, event edit only works for drums, but it is greyed out for other tracks. I have unlocked the style, but the issue still there. Any ideas? BOYS_BOY.AC7
Akshansh - Alex
The one options is available to edit the intro event 8f it is grayed. (It's better to perform the operation while you're in the keyboard) Select your Rhythm Long Press RHYTHM button to directly enter in PATTERN SEQUENCER. Then go to PART EDIT and then select PART (you can also select part by using MIXER settings). Select PART COPY option Select the rhythm from which you want to copy part events. Make sure you have selected EVENT ONLY option turned ON Select DESTINATION ELEMENT to INTRO 1 or which you want. Select DESTINATION PART in which Event Edit is grayed out. Then select SOURCE ELEMENT and Part same as DESTINATION. EXECUTE the operation and done! Now you can easily edit events of any parts by unlocking the part be the sa.e process. See the picture, the part is unlocked to edit the event.
Just Alex
Yes I know that way, but it also disables the chord type assignment, and none of the existing ones work for this style. Try to copy chord 5 from intro of the file I posted above and then paste it elsewhere and find what type of chord will work of it. None will work correctly - Minor, Major, Intro-no-change - all will give errorneus sound.
Akshansh - Alex
So you want to edit the events of the part which contain "CC Data" along with Events data right? There is one way that comes in my mind is: Record the rhythm in a MIDI format in the keyboard itself in C major / minor chord which you want. Then load it in any DAW as midi file and then edit it. After done editing save it in STY format or you can save it in MID then rename it to STY. After this process load that file in keyboard using SMF Import. If you want to edit CC events, you can also edit it using a software. And it works for all the keyboards. I'm not at the keyboard right now. But if you will do this method please let me know if it is worked or not. I'll check it out this tomorrow morning. Just Alex
I know simpler method of doing all this, I'm asking a different thing, btw
Just Alex
And I figured out why it happens. This happens when style has different intro parts for minor and major chords in it. So, obviously, you can't edit it. Also, when you copy it from/to other style, both parts get copied into single track, creating a mess. Silvano Silva
This is the biggest complaint I have about the MZ-X. AC7 File does not work correctly in Midi pattern. A Yamaha Rhythm that has arrangements in major and minor chords you see in the DAW the first Midis channels being used 1-8 for minor and seventh arrangements. MZX does not support this import function, but interestingly, Internal Rhythms has these arrangements. Another detail is the confusing Chord Table in the Style edition. The MZ-X does not support chord deletion. (When you don't want an accompaniment instrument to play a certain chord like Minor, Seventh or Major) Edited March 31, 2023 by Silvano Silva
