gergriffin
Hi all, I wish to control a Ketron SD1000 from the px for additional sounds. I have it working fine - accessing the 4 sound banks. I have the first 4 sliders set to zone off/on and volume to bring in and out sounds according as I want them depending on what Stage setting I am using. The problem is as follows - If I have a stage setting with zone 1 and 2 operational and the 3 and 4 turned off when I change to a setting with zone 4 operational its off until I activate the slider. It is like as if the sd1000 does not recognise the volume controller change when I change the stage setting ( or the px is not sending the change). Also if I have a transpose on for example zone 4 at -24 when I call up another stage setting with no transpose it holds on to the transpose, again the change is not transferring. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Ger.
Brad Saucier
Are you saying you have a single slider with two functions assigned to it? Zone on/off and volume? If a zone if off, it can't transmit anything, volume or transpose.
gergriffin
Thanks for suggestion Brad. However that doesn't appear to be the problem. I did some more test runs . If I have stage setting A as follows: Z1 on volume 127 Z2 off Z3 off Z4 off and stage setting B as follows: Z1 off Z2 on volume 127 Z3 off and 4 all works perfectly from one to the other - zones are turned on and off as required. However if I turn off Z1 in stage setting A and bring up the volume on Z3 while I am playing , change to stage setting B play some more then change back to stage setting A Z1 is turned on alright but at min volume. Its puzzling me. the Ketron is getting the messages to turn off and on zones but is holding to the last known volume of the zone rather than the one saved in the stage setting. I have gone through all the settings I can think of and I'm not having any success. Any more thoughts very welcome.
Brad Saucier
Have you tried a MIDI monitor to see what the PX is sending?
gergriffin
I didn't think of it until you suggested it. Here's a screen shot of what its sending . It appears to be just sending the program changes for each zone. I don't know what the controller means that its sending on channel 15. Channel 15 was the device ID in the settings. Thanks for your help so far. Midi data.pdf
wlodekduch
Anyone knows how one can shift pitch of a single channel up or down a few notes? Maybe using NRPNs? I can do it using Cakewalk, but not MIDI-OX. SD-1000 is such a great little module, but no control software and the instruction does tell me much.
